I thought today would be a good day to do a series of quick hits or hit and runs.  I’ve been analyzing the news the last few days and it seems like there is so much stuff going on that I can’t concentrate on any one thing.  I mean we have cash for clunkers, Bubba heading off to see lil’ Kim, and a series of ethically challenged Senators to think about.  Throw in health care reform, Congressmen hiding from their constituents, and the threat of an Iranian nuclear bomb and you can see it’s almost more than any one political geek can handle.  Ahh, what the hey, let’s give it a shot.  A good rant is good for your mental health. 

  Cash for Clunkers?  Leave it to the federal government to promote and fund a program that goes out of business in less than week.  They burned through one billion dollars in less than a week people.  Think about that.  If you had a lemonade stand and were twenty dollars in the hole for a week you would pack it in and go back to trading marbles or baseball cards for excitement.  The Feds?  Nope, let’s see about adding another two billion to the program.  Charles “The Big Mouth” Schumer (Cry Baby-NY) and the walking wax figure Dianne Feinstein (Far Left Loon-CA) are pushing for further funding.  For what?  So the program can go two more weeks?  If anyone thinks the federal government can “create” something, they should take a long look at this program. 
 
  I have nothing against someone taking part in a program like this.  If someone feels like this can help them and if it helps the car dealer, then as a fellow human I wish them best.  But let’s be real, the American tax payer is funding this and it now needs to end.  One billion dollars isn’t chump change.  People sit around and complain when a pro athlete makes fifteen million dollars a year but these same people applaud when the feds flush one billion (with more on the horizon) down the toilet?  It makes no sense.  I would get into the nuts and bolts of this program, but it would make even less sense.  End this program now. 

  Now I’m reading that Bill Clinton is rolling off the couch to take a little side trip to North Korea to free two journalists who are being held by the little square headed madman Kim Jong Il.  Boy, it just never ends.  OK, I’m not going to get into the whole thing about these two women stupidly being in North Korea.  I mean would any of you enter a rattlesnake den willingly?  The two reporters who work for Al Gore’s Current channel should have known better.  Now that being said I don’t want any American to have to sit in a North Korean prison.  So with that, I wish President Clinton all the luck in the world.  As far as the Current channel goes?  Just stay out of North Korea.

  What worries me is that Clinton is likely carrying a message from Comrade Obama.  North Korea is going to let Clinton in the country so this leads me to believe that some back door diplomatic work is going on.  Since Kim Jong Il is notoriously difficult to communicate with, I would guess that Obama is sending a message of some sort with Clinton.  I would imagine that America’s rock star is going to attempt to buy off lil’ Kim.  North Korea loves a payoff and they know they can count on the Clintons for one.  Obama might be offering them money, trade, or even security guarantees.  Who knows with this guy?  My guess is that Bubba will come back with the Current gals safely in tow and then give all the credit to Hillary for her hard work behind the scenes.  You better watch them Obama, they’re not true believers like most of the sheep who follow you.

  Kent Conrad received his four year Government and Political Science degree from Stanford University.  Now I don’t know which classes Senator Conrad attended while at Stanford, but looking at their Political Science offerings I see there is a POLISCI 133 “Ethics and Politics of Political Science” and ETHICSSOC185 “Contemporary Moral Problems.”  Mr. Conrad did you take either of these classes?  Mr. Conrad, did you know that if a government employee takes a gift or favor that they can be suspended, fired, or even brought up on charges?  Did you know that?  So if a government employee in this country is ever caught taking a gift, I would like you to keep your mouth shut.  Don’t be a hypocrite.  If it helps matters you can even have the North Dakota newspapers call the government employee a nice person so they can get off like you have.  You disgust me Senator Conrad.  We can’t even get an apology out of you. 

  I would pick on Chris Dodd from Connecticut as well but I have more pity for him than Conrad.  You see big Kent went to one of the best colleges in the country, while Dodd learned at the bar stool from bubble nose Ted Kennedy.  Yep, Dodd’s old drinking buddy and mentor was none other than Ted “hiccup” Kennedy.  Don’t feel bad Chris, at least you didn’t drive a friend off a bridge and fail to report it.  Both Dodd and Conrad should be removed from the Senate.  You can bet if their last name was Coburn or DeMint they would be long gone.

  Conrad is lucky since he isn’t up for election until 2012.  He can still hold out hope that his buddy Obama might give him a job of some sort before then.  Conrad stuck his neck out for everyone’s favorite Marxist and didn’t even get a nice cabinet job.  I guess even Obama knows that adding another clown to his cabinet full of tax cheats would be just too much for the public to swallow.

  I’m not going to Health Care you to death since everyone else is, but I do want to say I think this whole thing is going to get a lot worse.  The fact that they didn’t vote on it means that they didn’t have the votes.  That much is clear.  What scares me is that they will continue to work deals with the so called “Blue Dogs” (Is that a joke or what?) to try and get some of them to get onboard.  It also scares me that they will try to please everyone and work a compromise that still screws every single one of us.  It won’t end either.  They want to get their hooks in, have Obama say he fulfilled his campaign promise, and then start the process back up.  This thing needs to be killed and killed now.  This country is broke and we don’t want to stay broke.  If any Congressman takes the time to read this, I am begging you not to do this to the people of this nation.  Please don’t go down this road.

  So are Congressmen hiding from their constituents?  Try to find a town hall meeting and then you tell me.  They are getting blitzed by angry residents who feel like enough is enough.  How much more can people take?  Congressmen who go to Washington and say one thing and then run home and say another seems to be the norm now.  If an elected official is scared to speak to his own constituents then we have a problem folks.  Oh and if you listen to these jokers they’ll try and soothe their constituents by saying there won’t be any middle class tax increase.  Yeah, right.  For one thing they hide the tax increases within cute little laws like Cap and Trade and Universal Health Care.  They’re also all over the map about what “middle class” actually is.  Finally my friends, if they’re talking about it then that means it’s seriously on the table.  Beware.  Find these fools and let the hard questions fly.  Be respectful, but let them know that their jobs depend on their actions in the next few months.

  Word is that the Supreme Ayatollah will decide on the future of the Iranian nuclear program (the bomb part that is) very soon.  He will tell the little greasy dude in the 80’s jacket that they should go ahead and build them so they can hurry up and blow up Israel.  If that doesn’t scare you, then you have problems.  If they go ahead with this plan and I would guess that they would, then Israel is going to have to bomb Iran’s nuclear facilities into oblivion.  There is no other way.  Obama is clearly anti-Israel and without the United States, the Jewish nation is alone.  Something big could be on the horizon.

  I read recently where Hillary Clinton brought up putting Israel under the United States Defense Umbrella.  Yes that’s nice Hillary.  You said the right things didn’t you?  The Jewish voters at home can run around singing the praises of that tough little fighter, Hillary Clinton.  Mrs. Clinton, that’s not enough.  Tell your boss to stop kissing up to the Muslim world and tell everyone that we will defend Israel like we would defend New York City.  I would go further and even say admission to NATO should be on the table.  The days are going by.  Iran is closing in on nuclear weapons.  Israel is running out of time.  The Middle East will explode into violence never before seen if something isn’t done.  Where is Obama?  Oh there he is, having a beer summit.  Good job Barry O.

  So there you have it, some quick hits to chew on.  We live in a scary time both at home and abroad and our leadership is failing us.  The main purpose of the United States Government is to protect us.  It is not to promote unproven science like evolution or global warming.  It is not to worship at the altar of the false messiah Obama.  It is not to stick its nose into every part of our lives.  It is not to literally sell us to China (Taiwan should be worried that we owe Red China so much money and that Barry Obama likes to make deals).  It is failing us.  We need government, but we need a government that listens to the people.  Make a pledge this week to get loud.  Call, write, town hall meetings, tea parties, or whatever else.  Let’s take this country back before it’s too late.
