President Obama
On FOX News Sunday, Bill Kristol predicts that Obama will win the Democrat Nomination and the White House in 2008.
I think he may be right. (1) As I have said for months, we should be very careful about attacking Hillary, she would be easier to beat in the General Election. (2) Obama is being viewed as the black Jack Kenndy, a new non-partisan problem solver. For blacks and other minortities he is being seen as a messianic figure. It is all image, but image trumps substance every time. (3) Our conservatives candidates are all Lilliputians and we are terribly divided, with conservatives doing all they can to turn off the evangelical vote. (4) It is increasingly being predicted that McCain will get his chance as next in line, and when comparing his 70+ year old haggard image with a young, exciting movie star, the people will vote their emotions and not the issues.
Now here is the difficult part, I think Mitt has the best chance of beating Obama because of his good looks, he looks presidential, he uses his almost constant smile and self-deprecating humor to good advantage, and he appears moderate enough to appeal to independents and conservative Democrats.
Unfortunately, I think Obama will still win and we will have a far worse liberal that Hillary and an untested novice in the White House.
