Palin Unites All Republican Factions?
Who woulda thunk it? That McCain decided to run with an actual, real conservative this campaign. And to think that the old man had a leaning towards pro-choicer/big government guy Tom Ridge. The one dissenting faction from the Republican base, the libertarian wing as grown by Ron Paul supporters such as myself, seems to buzz alot about McCain choosing Palin. In fact, many were saying that should Paul have taken the nomination, Palin would have made the best choice for VP. Well, there are a whole lot of things I do not like about McCain. In fact when it comes down to it I probably disagree with him on most of his issues- such as stem cell research, the war, and his infamous amnesty agenda (I could go on). However, it seems like he picked the antinode to all that crap- a staunch pro-lifer, fiscal conservative, economic reformer, libertarian-leaning endorser of RON PAUL (she endorsed him in the Alaska primary).
Actually, I was so disgusted with the illusion of choice that my vote would have came down to, “which U.S. president-to-be would kill the least amount of people?” Now, if Palin can make waves in her pro-life advocacy in stubborn Washington.... or if there is even a CHANCE she can… then I’m stepping over to the McCain side. Understand though, my vote is almost %100 due to the selection of Mrs. Palin.
Way to go.
