Outraged Cuban Americans Protest Obama in Miami

Besides his commitment to meet with Castro, Cuban Americans are angered that Obama has picked up two advisors who worked to deport Elian Gonzalez back to Cuba.
NBC6 reported:

Obama has some foes in South Florida’s large Cuban-American community. And some of those detractors plan to protest Saturday outside the Intercontinental Hotel as Obama speaks to the mayors’ conference.

Protesters claim two of Obama’s advisers were responsible for putting 6-year-old Cuban refugee Elian Gonzalez into the hands of federal agents.

Those advisers are Eric Holder and Gregg Craig.

Holder, now a member of Obama’s campaign team, worked for Attorney General Janet Reno during the controversy. Gregg Craig, an Obama advisor on Latin America, represented Elian’s father in the international custody case.

In April 2000, federal agents took the little boy, now 14, from his relatives in Miami after they lost their fight to keep him in the United States.

Elian had survived a boating accident off the Florida coast that killed his mother, who was attempting to get to the U.S.

Elian’s relatives in Cuba will be among the protesters outside the hotel Saturday.
The protesters may also be upset that Obama will not condemn the actions of Che Guevara.
That might have something to do with it.

UPDATE: It probably didn’t help Obama that his advisor Eric Holder played dumb about the whole Elian Gonzalez incident:

Eric Holder was unconvincing in his defense of the horrible incident that he took part in.

Great post, Golfmann!!  I hope every Cuban in the USA - and every American - NEVER forgets what Obama’s new advisors did!

An Obama presidency will bring this nation to it’s knees.

At least Janet Reno didn’t have little Elian toasted like she did to those tots in Waco.

Eric Holder was also a Deputy Attorney General and the one who pushed the last minute presidential pardon for Saddam’s favorite oil trader, Marc Rich, and a couple of Weather Underground terrorists.

In doing so, Holder violated the law by not notifying the various prosecutors about the pending pardon requests, a provision put in place to allow those prosecutors the opportunity to argue for or against the proposed pardons.  Federal prosecutors have since expressed their anger at being sandbagged
by a Deputy Attorney General and stated that those pardons would have been vigorously opposed had the prosecutors been properly informed.

Small world, indeed, Mr. Holder.

The majority of Cubans living abroad are not outraged at all with Obama, don’t speak for me ! I for one support normal relations. The old Batista guard and their relatives, now serving the U.S. government, along with Miami narco fascist mafiosos, led by notables like Orland Bosh and Posada Carilles amongst them, will more than likely spearhead this protest of self interest. Hearts filled with hate, pockets filled with money the group and their handlers, which were both pardoned by Bush I and Bush II, now “retired” in Miami, are resposible for some of the most hidious, brutal acts of murder and terrorism in our hemisphere. These include the blowing up of a Cuban commercial airliner, while in flight, killing the entire fencing team and many other innocent people. If either U.S. candidate wanst to fight terror, Miami would be a good place to start, conveniently close also. When it comes to justice we better start thinking that humanity is our nationality, J. Marti and not the other way around, that would be hitler, right ?

So, el zero, you speak for all Cubanos in America? “When it comes to justice we better start thinking that humanity is our nationality,” You want socialism recognized as the Overlord of all humanity? What has killed more Cubanos, socialism or starvation in Fidels prisons and slave labor camps? Oh! Thats right. Without socialism Fidel would not have been able to murder all those Cubanos. No wonder you are in support of socialism for America, you want to punish them for your failure to kill Fidel and free the people of Cuba. Your guilt and self loathing for such cowardice is understandable.

Hey no hard feelings pussy cat ! I understand your anger, I just don’t share it. I never intended to rep all Cubans in Miami. Nope, I am just one man expressing his free opinion. By the way, as a follow up to the big demonstartion, here is a cut and paste from the Miami Herald: Democrats point to signs that the Hispanic community’s political stripes are changing. A protest Saturday outside Obama’s speech in Miami drew only about three dozen people, mostly older Cuban-Americans. The group attacked Obama for surrounding himself with two high-level advisors who helped send Cuban rafter Elián González back to his father in Cuba.
Respectfully, El Zorro, alias comandante el zero.

What is “El Zorro” going on about?

The majority of Cubans living abroad...

Okay there. This wasn’t about Cubans living abroad.

You people actually think that it is right to separate a child from his/her parents because of where they live? Would you want your child removed from you because you live in a slum or are homeless. I don’t think so. The same thing applies in the Elian Gonzales case. Get divorced and see how it feels when you have limited contact with your children. Maybe then you will understand and stop being so pius.
