Ohio AG Wanted to be Like His Idol Elliot Spitzer…and Succeeded!

About a month ago, I wrote about the apparently sleazy doings of

Ohio Attorney General Marc Dann, a former Democratic state senator has been keeping a sexual harassment investigation of one of his friends and top managers, Anthony Gutierrez, an internal investigation, despite the potential conflict of interests.  (He finally stepped aside Wednesday.)

One woman complained that Gutierrez pressured her to have drinks after work. Gutierrez receives a call from his boss the Attorney General, inviting them to his apartment for pizza. Dann is there with yet another female employee, Dann’s scheduler Jessica Utovich , allegedly wearing pajamas…

“The woman said she felt intoxicated, rested on Gutierrez’s bed and later awoke to find three buttons on her pants undone and Gutierrez next to her in his underwear.”

(…)

And the “scheduler”?

In January 2007, after about two weeks in office, Dann hired Utovich as his scheduler at an annual salary of $35,000. Seven months later, her pay was raised to $45,000 and her duties expanded.

(Pajama modeling???)

In the last few days, Marc Dann has admitted having an affair with Jessica Utovich. Gutierrez and Dann's top staffers have all resigned or been fired, and the governor, Ted Strickland (D) is calling for Dann’s resignation. Dann, like a good Democrat caught with his hand in the ethical cookie jar…doesn’t want to leave! Strickland has threatened Dann with impeachment. Dann still doesn’t want to go.

A colleague in Columbus said that while campaigning for Ohio’s top cop, Marc Dann said he wanted to pattern himself after New York’s Elliot Spitzer. Heh. He succeeded beyond all expectations!

The Dayton Daily News has done yeoman’s work in documenting the details of this sordid affair. They have timelines here and here.

Cross Posted at Proof Positive

Rich Galen has his take on it:

Marc Dann, a Democrat, was elected in the tsunami of 2006 which swept just about every Republican office holder down the Ohio River in the wake of astonishing scandals which attended to the GOP Governor at the time.

Keep that in mind: Scandals swept Republicans out of office in Ohio, and Democrats are now in control.

Marc Dann is a Democrat from Youngstown and after he was elected he hired three of his buddies to senior positions in the AG’s office.

The four of them rented a townhouse in a suburb of Columbus, Ohio which caused an Ohio GOP official to claim that Dann, “turned the attorney general’s office into a raunchy frat pad.”

Putting aside for the moment the obvious redundancy of “raunchy” and “frat pad” it turns out that one of Dann’s buds was sexually harassing the office staff (and possibly running his Youngstown construction business out of the AG’s office) and at least two other pals were either complicit or turned a blind eye.

Not only that, but Marc Dann, the Democratic Attorney General his own self, was using the “raunchy frat pad” to spend quality time with his scheduler - an affair to which he finally admitted late last week.

All four of his subordinates were either fired or quit, including the 20-something scheduler with whom Democrat Marc Dann was having the affair in that raunchy frat pad, but Dann, the Democratic Attorney General has not resigned, and says he will not.
The gift that keeps on giving! You can read the rest here.

It sounds like this Dann should have been gone a long time ago.

But he is hanging in there like a good gop, just like Diaper Dave.

On Tuesday, the Democrat minority in the House was looking into procedural issues for impeachment, according to Phil Saken, communications director for House Democrats.

When Sen. David Vitter, R-La., showed up in Washington, D.C., again last week after hiding with the equivalent of a paper bag on his head, he was welcomed back to a closed Republican Senate luncheon with a loud standing ovation.

…Judging by their enthusiastic greeting, his GOP chums didn’t seem to mind that the hypocrisy level in the nation’s capital — always high — just zoomed upwards into outer space.

Nice spin there, dervish!  He’s a Democrat tried and true, bought and paid for (and paid for, and paid for!)!
Too bad you’re SUCH a partisan hack, that you cannot acknowledge the sins of your own party without saying, “but, but look over here!” Pathetic.

Those who think the party or the country, will be “taught a lesson” by handing the levers of power over to the liberals will learn a lesson, but it will be at the expense of our country and her liberties. And there are no guarantees that the party or the country will come out stronger, more conservative or better positioned to win elections against the incumbent liberals.

That’s how I began my comment, poof.

That Dann should be gone.

I backed it with his dem house calling for his impeachment.

Oh look, here’s another one.

And followed that with the standing ovation for prostitute diddling diaper wearing family value proselyte adulterer Dave Vitter got from the gop at a closed session luncheon.

Sorry if I missed your condemnation of Diaper Dave.

Will you cut and paste it here?

With a vague tepid remark. *Yawn*
Then, instead of exploring this deep mine of corruption, with multiple offenses and copious links, you try to change the subject to a Republican.

Too bad you’re SUCH a partisan hack,

still stands.

Funny! On your own inane post, when asked what your point was, you said:

Gee, I guess you could just google the post’s subject and follow where it leads.

So when you post something you expect people to “Google it” and make some sense of what you post, when someone provides you with a plethora of links, you ignore them and find some Republican to bang on.
What’s the matter, Huff Po Bob? You don’t have the guts to follow where it leads? Or just no sense of indignation when the subject is not a Republican?

Here’s a guy that hired his buddies (cronyism),

For the past three months, a man who served time in prison for involuntary manslaughter has been driving Dann throughout the state and attending to his security details.

(incompetence) Personally investigated the sexual harassment charges against his friend (conflict of interest)
Gave his lover (and subordinate) a hefty raise (possible sexual harassment; cronyism), promised transparency in government, then refused to disclose emails he said were “part of the public record"(stonewalling)...the list goes on and on.

But none of this interests you , because there isn’t an “R” after his name! You’re a partisan hack, Huff Po Bob!

Your ADD is full blown, eh, Huff Po Bob? This is a thread about a Democrat. In Ohio. Who richly deserves condemnation. And unemployment.

If you want to ride your little hobby horse against Republicans, start your own damn thread and see if a partisan hack like yourself can interest anyone to comment on it.

THIS thread (focus, now, boob) is on Marc Dann. I know you’d LOVE to change the subject! (It’s what you do !)

Anything to say about Marc Dann?
Beuller?
Beuller?

If there is sufficient evidence, let him be charged with a crime Let him be tried. If found guilty throw him in jail.

But wait, didn’t he already admit guilt?

Ever see his hooker, errrr, gal pal talk about the LA gop?

Or should we wait for Al Gore to announce the coming Ice Age first?

The Dann guy should be investigated and if evidence warrants criminal charges slam him with everything. If found guilty send his ass to jail and throw away the key.

Do you need some time to get your thought together about Mr. Vitter or Vito?
It’s OK, I understand.
