Obama’s Attraction to Human Rights Violators

In the short time that Obama has been in power, we have seen him bow to Islamic leaders, gladhand every tinhorn dictator he can reach, suck up to Communist tyrants, and yet browbeat Israel for her settlements and lean heavily on Honduras for not allowing a potential dictator from stealing their election, even as ImmaDinnaJacket has stolen the election in Iran and Obama waffles instead of coming down forcefully on the side of the protesters.
Kinda tells you where he is coming from. It’s also a warning to all of us about what sort of direction he really intends to take with his Hope and Change for America.
...Sadly, the Obama presidency keeps getting “curiouser and curiouser.” According to Obama, Israel’s settlement building is illegal, the Iranian elections are legitimate, and the Honduran military’s respect for the rule of law is “not legal.”
In other words, it is fine for the Obama administration to meddle in the internal affairs of a sovereign ally, it has no interest in defending a popular uprising in which people are dying in the name of freedom, and it will support the Chavez-cloned dictator in the face of a democratic struggle.
Many have suggested that due to the voter fraud pervasive during his campaign, Obama is not troubled by a similar occurrence in the Iranian and Honduran elections. Yet this is the same man that made human rights a benchmark of his campaign speeches. And how does one rationalize his completely irrational responses to the various events taking place across the globe as citizens of repressed nations attempt to achieve freedom and democracy. The leader of the free world persists on choosing the wrong side of the fight.
The only discernable pattern to Obama’s foreign policy decisions since taking office seems to reflect an attraction by Obama to dictatorial governments and disdain for freedom loving democracies. How else can one rationalize the disparity between his silence and weak response to the protests and bloodshed in Iran and his powerful and demanding response to the coup in Honduras? America’s President is consistently supportive of tyrants at the expense of oppressed citizens who bear a terrible price for his policies.
Obama Becomes First President to Greet Qadhafi
...
Back in the 1980s, President Ronald Reagan would sooner have cut off his arm than shake hands with Qadhafi.
“We do not underestimate the brutality of this evil man,” said Mr. Reagan of the Libyan leader in 1986, who was deemed by the U.S. to be world’s foremost state sponsor of terrorism.
President Reagan regarded Qadhafi as a “madman,” a ruler of an “outlaw regime,” and “an enemy of the United States.”
Qadhafi took power in a 1969 coup, after which U.S. relations with the North African nation became increasingly strained to the point of military action.
In 1986, Mr. Reagan ordered air strikes on military targets in Libya after evidence linking it to a bombing incident in Berlin which claimed the lives of two American servicemen.
“Long before I came into this office, Colonel Qadhafi had engaged in acts of international terror, acts that put him outside the company of civilized men, ” said Mr. Reagan in an address to the nation on April 14, 1986.
Libya was also implicated in the December 1988 bombing of Pan Am 103 which claimed the lives of 270 people.
But now, 21 years later, the U.S. and Libya enjoy normal diplomatic relations. In January of this year, the two countries exchanged ambassadors for the first time since 1973.
A sea change in Qadhafi’s behavior and zealous anti-American policies took place six years ago when Libya announced it would rid itself of weapons of mass destruction. It cooperated in this effort with the U.S., Britain and the International Atomic Energy Agency.
In exchange, the U.S. began normalizing relations with Libya by ending trade sanctions, unfreezing assets and opening a diplomatic office in Tripoli. It was upgraded to a full embassy in May 2006.
And tonight in Italy, Qadhafi shook hands with the American president and sat just two seats away from him at dinner. In between them was the summit host, Italian Prime Minister Silvio Berlusconi.
In the litany of controversial handshakes, tonight’s encounter with Qadhafi follows President Obama’s exchanges in April with Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez and Nicaragua’s Daniel Ortega. No fist-bumps on that list just yet.

Twenty-two years ago this month, President Ronald Reagan stood at the Brandenburg Gate in Berlin, Germany, boldly pointed to the barrier dividing the city and declared, “There is one sign the Soviets can make that would be unmistakable, that would advance dramatically the cause of freedom and peace. General Secretary Gorbachev, if you seek peace, if you seek prosperity for the Soviet Union and Eastern Europe…Mr. Gorbachev, tear down this wall!”
President Reagan’s words were the knockout punch that buckled the knees of the Soviet Empire.
...
In the aftermath of last Sunday’s fatally flawed elections in Iran, Barack Obama responded saying, “I can’t state definitively one way or another what happened with respect to the election.”
But it’s pretty obvious that our Democratic friends have learned nothing from the lessons of the Reagan era, and have forgotten none of their old liberal delusions.
Obama Campaigns for his murderous Muslim Extremist Cousin Odinga, in Kenya 2006
Clearly, Obama campaigned for someone who is corrupt, ruthless and has financial ties to terrorists. More importantly, Obama campaigned for a candidate who had the stated objective of dismantling US & Kenyan government efforts to root out Al Queda and other terrorist organizations. Organizations that had already caused the deaths of hundreds of Americans and Africans in embassy bombings. Senator Obama’s actions—intentional or not—were in direct conflict with the efforts and interests of US national security. I think this raises serious questions about the judgment, maturity and readiness of Senator Obama.
In addition to calling for the formation of his own army of Tonton Macoutes * , his chosen Homeland Security Secretary Janet Napolitano , considers us to be extremists and possible terrorists. **
* Their very name, Tonton Macoute, became synonymous with savagery. They brought him the heads of his enemies; they stoned people to death; and when his successor, Baby Doc, was finally exiled to France in 1986, they didn’t go away; they went underground.
** A footnote in the report, “Rightwing Extremism: Current Economic and Political Climate Fueling Resurgence in Radicalization and Recruitment,” said that while there is no specific information that domestic right-wing terrorists are planning acts of violence, such acts could come from unnamed “rightwing extremists” concerned about illegal immigration, abortion, increasing federal power and restrictions on firearms—and singled out returning war veterans as susceptible to recruitment.
Bottom line: do not trust Obama. He is corrupt and power hungry. He will become dictator if we allow him to have his way.
