Obama Releases More Terrorists, in Exchange for…?

Obama releases Iranian Quds commanders

Rick Moran

This didn’t get much play in the media because this is one “outreach” item to Iran Obama would just as soon not be widely circulated; his release of 5 Revolutionary Guard commanders belonging to the elite Quds Force who planned dozens of attacks on Americans in Iraq and who George Bush refused to release.

Andrew McCarthy in NRO has the sickening details:

There are a few things you need to know about President Obama’s shameful release on Thursday of the “Irbil Five” - Quds Force commanders from Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guards Corps (IRGC) who were coordinating terrorist attacks in Iraq that have killed hundreds - yes, hundreds - of American soldiers and Marines.

  [...]

Third, Obama’s decision to release the five terror-masters comes while the Iranian regime (a) is still conducting operations against Americans in Iraq, even as we are in the process of withdrawing, and (b) is clearly working to replicate its Lebanon model in Iraq: establishing a Shiite terror network, loyal to Iran, as added pressure on the pliant Maliki to understand who is boss once the Americans leave. As the New York Times reports, Gen. Ray Odierno, commander of U.S. forces in Iraq, put it this way less than two weeks ago: Iran is still supporting, funding, training surrogates who operate inside of Iraq - flat out. . . . They have not stopped. And I don’t think they will stop.

[...]

This is another unilateral concession by Obama to the thugs in Tehran who just a few days ago sicced the Rev Guards on protestors once again. Every single move in the “new relationship” we are trying to forge with Iran has been made by us. And every single concession we have made has been met with contempt by the Iranian leadership.

[...]

Obama obviously believes they are love taps and that if only he could give away enough of the store to the Iranians without reciprocity, they will think him a swell guy and sit down for a spot of tea and abandon their mad plans to build a nuclear bomb.

[...]

We will probably meet every unilateral demand by the mullahs and they will still refuse to speak with us. They know they have a softie sitting on the other side and will wring as much out of Obama’s Chamberlainesque policies as they can before smarter heads prevail in Washington.

Obama is worse than Neville Chamberlain.  Weakness invites attack.  When we retreat, they advance.
