ND Republican Leaders Come Undone
The Fargo Forum ran a Fargo Forum ran an editorial by the majority leaders Rep. Rick Berg and Sen. Bob Stenehjem and there are some major problems in the thought process of North Dakota Republicans.
Republican leadership in this state has come undone. They have embraced their leadership posts and tossed their Republican values into the corner with the rest of the dirty laundry.
They accepted the premise that the Democrats made on property taxes during the election and it cost them 13 seats between two chambers. They have embraced the idea of supporting a governor simply because he is popular. Finally, they have accepted the scheme of taking victories for Democratic ideas.
Some of their statements in this editorial are so outrageous one would think that Democrats took over the Republican Party in a midnight palace coup.
“The state’s budget is stronger than ever, which allows us to increase funding at record levels across the board.”
Since when do Republicans support increased funding at record levels? I must have slept through that breaking news alert.
It would seem that nothing less than a loss of both chamber and a total change in leadership will right the course that these Republicans are on.
Bragging about increased spending at record levels?
You’ve got to be kidding me.
