Nothing to say about our great Vice
President Dick
What about the rest of you nutters?
Nothing? Nothing at all?
Trekkie? You? Nothing?
Rube? Hello? Rube?
Neiman, Neiman, Neiman…I know you could write a few bullet pointed paragraphs about Dick. You love Dick, right? Come on tell us how much you love Dick.
OH – COME ON r- Gumby, we all know you love Dick.
Here is a chance for you to defend Dick.
I personally do not care for Dick.
I would like to see him tried for treason.

How sad that it’s attention span is so short! I’ve been waiting for five days for boob to justify or apologize for his lies.
boob gets lonely when he is ignored for six hours!
Boo hoo hoo, bob!
For any voter trying to choose between the two candidates for commander in chief, there is no better test than this: When American strategy in a critical theater was up for grabs, John McCain proposed a highly unpopular and risky path, which he accurately predicted could lead to success. Barack Obama proposed a popular and politically safe route that would have led to an unnecessary and debilitating American defeat at the hands of al Qaeda.

So after watching this video, poof, do you have any comments or will you go back to making jokes about nipple rings and how my comments are irrelevant?

RCB, you seem to be unaware that a diplomatic situation can change in 12 years. Obviously, in your world, our response to Germany, Japan, and the Soviet Union should have been the same in 1948 as it was in 1936.
RealityChallengedBob, you are well named. What color is the sun on your planet?
So after watching this video
See! Another unwarranted ass-umption from our resident Leftard!
I haven’t watched the video yet. Being gainfully employed (a concept I question that you’re not personally familiar with!)I haven’t taken the time yet. Just as you, after five days and counting have chosen not to defend any of your lies (Even with the pathetic lie you kept repeating !) After less than half a day, I’ve not yet found the time. What’s YOUR excuse?
Plus, you could tell me why we should branch out into new discussions when you haven’t given account of yourself for the old discussions or shown yourself to be an honest debater?
Tell me why I should waste perfectly good ones and zeros with you if you prove to be only a lying, partisan hack who will never concede even to the facts? (The facts you yourself provided!)

RBB is incapable of any real debate.
All he can do is regurgitate the same anti-American bullshit over and over again.
Carrick, Proof, et al: As I have been saying, rbb has no interest whatever in what you think or say. He comes here to bait you so that he can post one of his ‘clever’ retorts. He loves the sound of his own voice.

OOOOHHH way to cut right to the heart of the issue little pp.
Are you vying for an Aunt Spelling Bea bonnet too?
Care to comment on just what Powell and Rice had to say 24 months before the bush invasion?

RCB, just because one person disagrees with another does not make one of them into a liar. Yeesh. Can you maybe, just maybe, acquaint yourself with a little work originally composed by Noah Webster? Please?
Reality is that things change over time. That’s why we have clocks, calendars, journals, and that kind of thing. As late as summer 1941, most people would have thought that the U.S. would sit out the Second World War. They were wrong, not lying.
Still no comment on what the Dick cheney video tells us…still no comment on what Colin Powell and Condi Rice said before the invasion.
I can only guess as to why you nutters won’t comment on what they said.

Well for the record I agree with most of what Cheney said there. We had no post war occupation plans in 1991 and it would have been an unmitigated disaster had we invaded the country.
First they were much strongly militarily than they were in 2003. The fighting would have gone much slower, and we would have taken far more casualties.
Secondly, without even a minimal level of support from Saudi Arabia, for whom we depended for our bases in the first war, had they withdrawn support, as they had promised to do, we may have ended up bogged down without the air support our outnumbered troops needed to successfully engage a larger Iraqi Army.
It’s hard to overstate the importance of air superiority in tank warfare. It’s why the South Vietnamese were able to hold off the NVA in the Easter offense of 1972 (US air power), but couldn’t in 1975 after the Democrats decided enough is enough and we should go get defeated. In 1975, it was not the irregulars of the Viet Cong who defeated South Vietnam (they were not an effective fighting force since 1968). It was the North Vietnamese Army literally engaging in Patton-like Tactics (the leader, General Giap ironically had a poster of Patton on the wall of his office) that overcame a larger and better equipped South Vietnamese Army.
So, Pparets is right. You can’t compare the two conflicts. So much had changed between them (the embargo, 9/11 and so forth) that you really are not making a meaningful comparison in trying to relate how a person decides to act in the first war compared to the second.
This is just another “gotcha!” argument brought to us by that “reality based” fellow, who doesn’t seem capable of arguing over substance on almost any topic.
And yet the things the Dick cheney video shows us came true.
What of the Powell and Rice statements?
“If a conservative is still a republican after the last 13 years, he is blind to the fact that his party of choice has failed him utterly.” – Realitybasedbob
Carrick. Well put. I finally looked at the video. I agree with everything said. Our Vice President is a logical, honest man. I realize that some can not discriminate or even identify honest people from liars. I taught school for 29 years and ran into quite a few confirmed liars. Some people could not tell honest people from them.
RBB-- He was talking about Desert Storm. 1991. We held true to our word.
We said that our objective was to liberate (throw the Iraqis out of Kuwait) We did that. Well after the fact, some monday morning quarterbacks said, well, we should have killed more on the Road, or invaded Baghdad, or occupied Iraq. We kept our word. That is the Republican President. I remember three votes the Democrats took the day before we went after the invaders. Several Democrats lost their next election for supporting freedom for Kuwaitis. They are an example of JFK’s Profiles in Courage. My brother told me later that 12,000 body bags had been ordered on an initial order. Some people just don’t get it.
Communism is evil
As I have said, RBB, I thought the war was a bad idea. There are many cans of worms that get opened when one invades and occupies another country.
Probably things would have been a bit better if you Democrats hadn’t been trying to cut the US off at the knees from the start (I of course foresaw that, which was a bit like foreseeing a sunrise). But the main problem was our military wasn’t up to the task initially post-invasion.
They are trained to fight and kill, not to occupy and protect. Literally, that was my biggest concern. I felt (circa February, 2003) we would need a new branch of the military, OPs or “occupation police” some 500,000 strong to hold the territory after our ground troops have finished major military action.
In spite of the fact that they have been asked to serve a role that they have previously only had minimal training in, our guys have done one hell of a job, and I am in awe of them for their efforts and achievements. I wish you Democrats would grow a backbone and acknowledge them too for both their service and their achievements.
The problem for you guys is I’m old enough to have a grudge about what you guys did in Vietnam, and although I am an independent, I will never trust you again to put the nations interests in front of your party’s vested ones when it comes to engaging in a war.
There’s a reason people call you guys “Defeatocrats”.
Can’t compare the two?
It was Iraq
Saddam was the dictator
The surrounding Arab countries would not support an invasion
We would be alone
US occupation
Take down the Saddam government…what would you put in its place
Iraq could splinter
Quagmire
How many additional dead Americans was Saddam worth and our judgment was not very many...and I think we got it right.

RBB. Contrast would be a better word. Yes, we had quite a few Arab coalition partners. They agreed to cooperate as long as we did the job and left.
We did just that.
Carrick. We had occupation police in Japan for many years.

Democrats hadn’t been trying to cut the US off at the knees from the start
There is only one US commander in Chief. There is only on decider when it comes to our military. He screwed up. He had no after action plan. He went in without enough boots. He left Osama in Tora Bora. He put us (US) in an international hole that will take decades to clime out of.
What did Gen. Shinski advise?
What did Gen. Abizad advise?
Pardon my French but fuck that Hate America Hate the troops shit. Shove it back up the ass it dripped from. I love my country and am proud of the effort our troops are making in the world. I do have difference with our leaders who put them there. So couldja just can the liberals hate America meme. It is such bullshit.
Don’t trust dems? Do you deem Nixon’s Cambodia hanky panky as gop trustworthy? Nixon, Agnew, North, Iran/Contra, the CIA coop that installed the Shah. Is the gop now trustworthy because of this …oh how did you phase it… the war was a bad idea. There are many cans of worms that get opened when one invades and occupies another country.
Oh yeah, that’s great. gops invade and bomb and massively screws up and the dems are not trustworthy.
Fantastic deductive reasoning.

RBB the main reason that the invasion would have been a potential military disaster in the first war was because we relied on the Saudis for our military bases.
Chief, I wasn’t aware of that. Thanks for that info.
RZ what do you make of Powell’s 2001 statement?

C, the main reason that Osama attacked us was because of the military bases in Saudi Arabia.

RBB, nice job of conflating prewar decisions with where we are today.
I though the war was a bad idea and opposed it, but when it happened, I have been on the side to see it through to its end, and to see the US come out of it as well as it can.
You on the other hand, quite obviously are still trying to cut us off at the knees. You are totally disinterested in what is best for our country, and are only concerned about your petty political considerations. Your bullshit may work well when you are preaching to the choir, but it comes across as very empty and even Machiavellian to me.

RBB. I will be glad to discuss with you one or two issues at a time. This thread which you posted is about what Mr. Cheney said on the video which you have posted here. To your last post, we were not alone in 1991 and we were not alone in 2003 onward.

If you do not support the mission the troops are engaged in, saying you support the troops rings hollow.
It is different altogether to say one does not support the strategy at all times, the decisions to get in and how to fight the war; but once we are at war to undermine that war, to give emotional aid and comfort to the enemy by verbal public attacks against the war, all expose the troops to greater danger and increases the prospects for defeat. That means for anyone to say, “I support the troops, but not the war,” is a damn lie!
When Liberals that say they love America, they mean a socialist, weak sister America, with them in the ruling elite, keeping the people poor and dumb and under their control. They do not, IMO, love a free, democratic and prosperous America.
No matter the age or state of health, for a military man it is always glorious to tilt at windmills, rescue a fair Dulcinea and be a gallant knight in armor in a glorious cause.
RBB. Watched your youtube. Propaganda? that is what communists use.
Keith Oberman? Biased MSNBC mouthpiece. Some people are still discussing a word like imminent. I don’t remember the exact word some accused President Bush of saying, but on replay he did not use the word. When confronted, the biased reporters say, well that is just about the same thing. Yes, in their own minds!
Another thing in the video: ~Bush and Blair’s war~ Our congress voted to authorize the war. The UN voted 15-0 as if we needed their permission to defend our country. Kerry debated on the very issue of the war. He lost.

In summary, there seems to be a cottage industry of people who can not discern honest people from others. Clinton was an angry liar in my opinion. She is like some of the female middle school students I taught. Lies without thinking about it. Kerry’s Christmas in Cambodia as well as his recall of invading the rivers, etc. is similar. There are, unfortunately some people who are incapable of telling The Truth. I have posted on this before. Some were corrupted by their parents, some like Jane Fonda and Hillary Clinton and perhaps Obama were corrupted by communist ideas and those who influenced them. I watched for hours the trial in England of the"sexed up” non-remark. Did you?

Cheney was very thoughtful, rational and he displayed his considerable intellect and complete command of the issues.
He was right that the costs in lives to take down Saddam was very low, once there the costs in lives and limbs to stabilize Iraq and help them get a democracy up and running and be able to provide for their own defense has been much higher, even one life being a great price. Yet, compared to most other American wars and the chance to establish a stable democratic state in the Middle East to help others in the region become more democratic, the cost has been very low indeed.
Cheney has been cast by liberals in the role of Darth Vader, but neither by word or deed have I seen any cause to support that idiotic idea in the least.

Neiman, I completely agree with your words above. RBB. I looked over several videos on the related list and refused to waste time listening to conspiracy theories of planted explosives. The one left out the name of the terrorist who was captured. There are some worse than these including that we flew our own airplanes into the WTC, that we blew up the levies in NO, etc. I really feel sorry for people like this. One girl even related how she learned in “school” that we painted airplanes with red dots and attacked Pearl on 12/07/41. Truly sorry for those people who have such a lack of history and whose minds are such that people like Tom, Al and Karl can indoctrinate them.

Captain RZ: I have enormous respect for your ethical and honest deportment on this site. You are never uncivil, diningenuous or mocking, and you attempt to engage in honest and thoughtful dialogue with all of us. You are deeply respected and deservedly so.

Answer: Two people’s opinions from different years. Intelligence changes as we found out after the 9/11 report. Why? Because the Clinton and before that Carter Administrations made it virtually impossible for the CIA or FBI to do their jobs. Have you heard of a woman by the name of Jamie Gorirck?

Proof. I could ask some simple questions too. Are we better off with Sadam gone? Did he use WMD on his own people? (hint, Halabja). Did he kill one million Iranians as well as a similar number of his own troops? Did he invade several other countries? Did the US congress authorize ~ any means necessary ~ Did Clinton call for “regime change in Iraq”. I could go on, but these are simple questions.

pparets. Thank you for looking at my profile and acknowledging my commissioning. I am volunteering to fly, basically free for my state in times of natural and man-made disasters. On the suggested link about Hillary’s “embellishments”—some would say lies, and I could tell more now that I have left the federal service… well, the pilot of the C-130 “Goose” is like those I know and knew. They had the greatest integrity and also know what happened. No gunfire, no evasiveness, etc. I probably flew in C-130s about forty times; ten in war zones. I will stop here. Thank you and I will sign off for the night.
