Mom threatened with jail for teaching kids at home

No this is not Germany, still operating under some Nazi era laws, it is the U.S. and an out of control judge in good old, God fearing Utah.

“A homeschooling mom in Utah has been ordered by a judge to enroll her children in a public school district within 24 hours, and have them in class tomorrow, all because of a paperwork glitch that very well could be the fault of the district.

The mother, Denise Mafi, told WND that she already has enrolled her children in the district, under the threat from Judge Scott Johansen, who serves in the juvenile division of the state’s 7th Judicial District, that he would order her children taken away from her.”

The reason I offer this article, is for several reasons: 1) Some time ago I have posted more than one story wherein Germany threatened and in one case did, take away children from their parents for the horrible crime of homeschooling, and I warned this trend would come to the United States. 2) The NEA is hostile to all religion and especially towards people of the Christian faith, and they have forced through threats of legal action to make school districts submit to their secular humanism tyranny. The NEA demands total control over our children and they insist upon indoctrinating them all in the religion of scientific atheism. 3) I have often offered my opinion that the USA is now openly, by law, hostile to the Christian faith, while being very open and sympathetic to Islam.

This is just one more turn of the screws on anyone that dares to promote the Christian faith, because it threatens the dream of the Left in creating a socialist utopia in America.

Well,...home schoolers are dangerous. They know how to spell, they know science and stuff, and they can speak proper English.

There’s no telling how much damage all of that knowledge could do. Put these kids into the dangerous drug and gang infested government schools so that we can be safe.

talk about paranoia. now, Neiman, how did you make the move from homeschooling persecution to christian persecution? explain that move. does this homeschooling rant not apply to atheists or something? and what about Islamic homeschoolers? you started off A-ok and then let your victim complex run the last third of the show. you poor thing. CAN WE GET SOME SPECIAL RIGHTS AND A LITTLE MONEY OVER HERE? sniffle.

it has been my observation that a majority of the repressed deviance occurs in Catholic schools. nonetheless, sheltering your kids at home hardly helps them. the allure of deviance and vice occurs when one has not had proper exposure to it. if you are exposed to it, you will learn or turn into a doper. period.
the homeschoolers I have encountered tend be very religious and very ignorant. there is no excuse, nowadays, for a shitty education. religious kooks perpetrate that shit on poor kids all the time. i am not saying they shouldn’t be allowed to, but cries about religion and the problems that stem from it and lead to idiotic violence does not jive with upholding people’s ability to brainwash children into the throwes of religious fervor such that they will kill themselves. kids need exposure and education - homeschool or not. the world nowadays demands a much thicker psychological ‘skin’ than it did yesterday. people owe it to their kids to throw them to the dogs early. if you wait, your kid will lack understanding, toughness, et al. we do not learn from reading about sins. we learn from sinning and SEEING for ourselves why its bad. my kids are gonna be veritable maniacs! I can’t wait to grow them, ‘educate’ them, and unleash them on the world! What fun!

Dear Sparkless and clueless:

They are part and parcel of the same whole: I am not going to list the truly innumerable ways that our nation, since 1962 has established a governmental hostility to Christianity, which until 1948 had been virtually unheard of and then like a steam roller picking up speed every day, every week, month and year more and more anti-Christian laws and judicial decisons have poured out in our nation that it makes the head spin. On the other hand, we are bending over backwards, out of fear, to accommodate Islam and of course atheism is not threat to socialist liberalism.

The homeschooling controversy is building up steam because it means the liberals cannot control what students think as they can in public schools, wherein they teach the religion of secular humanism; and just as in the case yesterday about the teacher that ridiculed Christian faith in calss almost daily, in a ;public school they can be openly hostile to anyone that dares believe in Christ, marginalyzing them, trying to use peer pressure to get them to reject the ‘fantasy’ about Christ.

Why? The Left is fighting with all their might to establish their idea of a socialist utopia in America, socialism is but a middle ground between Democracy and Communism, and Christianity is an opiate of the masses, it means Christians only serve King Jesus and that loyalty by all socialist systems is always viewed as a threat to the state.

That seems rather drastic to take the kids away from the parents all because of a glitch in paperwork. Those darn little home schoolers are rather pesky. NOT!

Does anybody know the facts of the case?

Lestat on December 16, 2007 at 03:18 pm

Zsa Zsa: No it is the judge, but now you mention it, there are many strong similarities. Seriously!

In Germany they take away the kids all the time and even sent one girl to a psychiatric hospital because she prefered home school. There have been cases in Australia and Canada and I am willing to bet there have been more in the States!

Lestat: Only what I read of the case at WND!

That is kinda what I thought.

Zsa Zsa on December 16, 2007 at 03:39 pm

Neiman, I fully agree with you on this but to go off track a bit, I am very curious as to how it came to this? Did it go from her faxing the necessary documents and then on to court? What happened in between? Was she not notified of this problem so that she could have the documents resent?

LOL Neiman.

I’ve been trying to figure something in my head, and maybe you can help me out, yeah? When a person is insane, as you clearly are, do you know that you’re insane? Maybe you’re just sitting around, reading Guns and Ammo, masturbating in your own feces. Do you just stop and go, “Wow! It is amazing how fucking crazy I really am!”?

Anna: Unfortunately, I don’t have more details now, but I will track this story as I realize there are unanswered questions. Nonetheless, please go to the link I provided and you will get a lot of information,

Dave:
Yours appears to be the wild ravings of a lunatic mind. If you are on the Left and don’t know what your ‘comrades’ are up to, then you are a typical liberal, wholly ignorant and only voting your ‘feelings!’

I doubt this is the full story.  Judges don’t threaten to take away children because of clerical SNAFUs.  Something doesn’t smell right here.

Lestat:

1) There may be more to the story, that is a fair observation.
2) As to what judges might do in these cases, you are ignorant of what happens around the country. My wife is a social worker and she can tell you horror stories about the judges in family court. This guy can just be a liberal that hates people of faith not giving control of the minds of their children to the NEA. I don’t know all the facts, but please don’t doubt that this story could be just as reported.

Sparkie Arbuckle - Lik
it has been my observation that a majority of the repressed deviance occurs in Catholic schools.

My observation as well. I love Catholic girls! That deviancy is absolutely delicious. And it’s even better if you can get a hot Jewish girl to go along with a hot Catholic girl. Rich Catholic girls are yummy.

the homeschoolers I have encountered tend be very religious and very ignorant.

Not the ones I’ve known Sparkie. Not at all. The homeschoolers I’ve known have been intelligent driven individuals. Not that they didn’t have their fun, don’t get me wrong, but they were generally good people who knew quite a bit more than the government school counterparts. Have you talked to the average American graduate? We’re not exactly setting the bar high to begin with. In any regard Sparkie, homeschoolers clean the government schooled kids clocks on knowledge tests. It’s not even close. They, as a group, do far better in every test imaginable.

likwidshoe on December 16, 2007 at 08:58 pm

BTW Sparkie, about Catholic schools - there’s one thing that you have to understand about Catholics and that is that they love the sin of gluttony. You can see this yourself at Catholic churches all over the country. Once a year they will hold a fair with kiddie rides, drinking, and gambling. They defined gluttony as a principle sin and they revel in it.

That gluttony is part of that delicious deviancy of Catholic girls that is so loved by guys everywhere.

It’s a positive thing, ya see!
Turn that sin’s frown, right upside down!
Besides that sin, their higher church, and some funny beliefs, they’re good people. Really no need to bring the Catholics up.

This says nothing of homeschooled kids though. Catholic schools themselves will clean the academic clocks of government schooled kids. Again, it’s not even a contest.

Sparkie:

How did you know which were homeschoolers?  Where they wearing a badge or something?

Seriously, Lik is right. Home schooled kids on average do better on achievement tests than kids from one-size-fits-all public schools.  They typically score 15-30 percentile higher than public school kids.

I have practiced in family court hundreds of times.  The judges are generally honest and want to help the kids.  I find it far more likely that this woman is guilty of neglect for not educating her kids than the judge is guilty of threatening to send her to jail and removing her children for a clerical SNAFU.

If I was the judge I would look into sueing the WND for libel.

Denise Mafi, the mother in this case:

Some people wonder if there is more to this case than I have posted. There really isn’t except what got us originally in court was my then 9yos hit a girl in the neighborhood and was charged with assault. My son has Aspergers’ Syndrome. This was the 1st and only time any of my children had been charged with a crime. He was give a plea in abeyance with the following stipulations-40 hours of community service, complete anger management, to do okay in school, and not to get in any more trouble for one year. He completed everything and the charges were dismissed. They took exception with the school part because I homeschool and the school district says it never received my affadavit last year.

I’m not sure how WND missed that with their crack team of investigative journalists.
