McCain’s Best Sales Pitch

How about McCain attacking the idea of our not drilling for oil in Anwar and exposing the Al Gore plan for our government to arbitrarilty, gradually increase gas prices to at least $5.00 a gallon to get people away from fossil fuels and out of their cars? This link is very interesting in that regard.

Such drilling really frightens and hurts the Caribou:

The American people want lower gas prices, these higher prices will grow and throw our economy into a horrible, perhaps irreversible tailspin. So why not take the fight to Obama and the Democrats? I think the American people are not willing to give up their cars and standard of living, and global warming isn’t selling outside D.C., so I suggest McCain sell the idea of Anwar, North Dakota and off-shore drilling big time, make it the centerpiece of his campaign. Also, sell it as a national security issue, the people that have the oil mostly want us dead, so we need to stop all dependence upon them for our oil.

This is, IMO, the big issue for 2008 if McCain has the cahones to back off his ‘green’ crap and sell America’s financial and national security interests.

McCain’s been on both sides of the issue.  He said that he was for federalism then his adviser said ANWR is too important.  Maybe there’s still squiggle room to solve it.

My big problem and the reason I won’t vote for him is his stupidity on falling for the global warming scam and his insistence on adopting some kind of massive tax, cap and trade scheme meant to ship all of our industry to foreign countries like China.

What’s going to happen to US industry when the global warming extremists like John McCain double the price of electricity?  I would think all these factories will close and set up in countries where they aren’t scared of technology.

Whistler: I have absolutely no fantasy that McCain will wake-up, stop pissing off conservatives, smell the stench of defeat and act rationally. I was just engaging in some wishful thinking.

Still, if someone could get to him there is a micrscopically slim chance he could turn this all around, but like the song says, “I don’t believe in IF anymore, IF is for children!”

Agreed.

With both of you.

The only thing that can save bad, bad McCain is

worse, worse Obama.

Out of 300 million in America, you would have thought that the political selection process would have given us something close to palatable.

We are truly, deeply screwed.

And once Anwar is sucked dry, then what?

It sounds like neither a short-term fix nor a long-term solution.

Nigel Stewart:
You must learn to pay attention, it includes off-shore, North Dakota and other oil fields; this drives down gas costs, helps the economy pick up and while this is happening, more Nuclear Power Plants, more work on greater MPG’s, alternative fuels and etcetera.

Tell us, Nigel, how fast will ANWAR be depleted? Enlighten us.

I love the pic of the bear walking the line! I know a man that got a $1500 fine for shooting a bear while it was doing that, back in the mid-’80s. Not for shooting the bear, for shooting towards the pipeline.

At least by the time ANWR is depleted the US will be something like 2.4 Trillion dollars wealthier.
