McCain Has Worse Afghanistan Hearing Record Than Obama

It turns out that presumptive Republican nominee Sen. John McCain, has attended even fewer Afghanistan-related Senate hearings over the past two years than Obama’s one. Which is a nice way of saying, McCain, R-Ariz., the top Republican on the Senate Armed Service Committee, has attended zero of his committee’s six hearings on Afghanistan over the last two years.

Comments

It’s not about the numbers; it’s about the knowledge.  Obama has none, and McCain has a whole lot.

From the sound of the leftie squealing, it would seem I have put my ordnance right on target.

Of course, McCain isn’t the guy trying to shift everyone’s attention to Afghanistan as a way to obfuscate what a jackass he’s been on Iraq.

That would be Obama.

John McCain knew more about the military by the time he graduated from high school, than Barack Obama does to this day.

Is that why you guys are all squealing so much?  You’re confused, as usual.  Leftie heads are exploding.

r, you nailed it. And the deafening squeal from the leftards is the proof of that. Too bad Obamoid was not in the Senate to vote against the GWoT. Funny, how he keeps saying he did though, isn’t?

The military has changed by leaps and bounds since old Mr McCain aquired his knowlege. Old Mr McCain is a relic. Time for the younger generarations to move America to the future.

e,

Exactly the sort of response I’d expect.

Problem is, whether the subject is national defense and military strategy, foreign affairs and diplomacy, economic growth and tax policy, or any other area of national policy, the American public expects its leaders to have some sort of applicable experience and some sort of basic knowledge and underlying principles to guide his decisions.  Barack Obama has neither the experience nor the basic knowledge and underlying principles… at least not judging by his shape-shifter approach to public policy.

Obama’s entire campaign is based on personality and platitudes, the triumph of style over substance, and fluff over fundamentals.  It is, as Bruce put it so exquisitely, “Change you can set your watch to.”

The level of intellectual debate we have come to expect from the Tiki Troll!

For any voter trying to choose between the two candidates for commander in chief, there is no better test than this: When American strategy in a critical theater was up for grabs, John McCain proposed a highly unpopular and risky path, which he accurately predicted could lead to success. Barack Obama proposed a popular and politically safe route that would have led to an unnecessary and debilitating American defeat at the hands of al Qaeda.

e,

Incidentally, a quick check on the ‘net shows that Mr. McCain has served on the Senate Armed Services Committee longer than Barack Obama has held public office… any public office!

Its more than a little disingenuous of you to imply that any “leaps and bounds” changes in the military have somehow passed McCain by.

Furthermore, I believe you’ll find that the course of study at the service academies still includes the military commentaries of Sun-Tze, Hannibal, Julius Ceasar, Clausewitz, and Mao.

I’d strongly suggest that military affairs is NOT an area where you’d want to measure Mr. Obama’s knowledge and experience against those of McCain.

Time for the younger generarations to move America to the future.

That would require knowledgeable leaders, not young, ignorant and inexperienced Obama.
Why would we want a black separatist/Marxist in charge of our national defense?  That would be insane.
