Mattel Has Toxic New Toy for Christmas

No lead paint in this one, it’s Barbie Fashion Fever Shopping Boutique Playset!
* Three stylish outfits included

* Set up your own store and choose your fashions and accessories

* Swipe the card to “buy”

That’s right! The Barbie Fashion Fever Shopping Boutique Playset comes with its own credit card! And the beauty of it is, no matter how many things you buy, or how much money you spend, your credit card never gets maxed out!

I believe the TV ad put it this way:

Buy what you want! You never run out of money!

You know what this means? Teaching little girls that they can buy whatever they want, whenever they want it and run up unlimited debt without consequences...That’s right! Mattel is teaching little girls to become...Democrats!

Amazon.com Product Description
One might think that with all the clothing already packing Barbie’s closet, she might not want for anything. But any girl with a fever for fashion knows that there is no such thing as too many shoes. Or too many accessories. Or too many cute tops. The Fashion Fever Shopping Boutique allows girls to get their shop on...

The Shopping Boutique Playset comes with three outfits, including shoes and sunglasses, and the rotating pole can hold up to 20 clothing and accessory pieces. Also included is a display stand that doubles as the cashier counter where you "buy" your clothes. Swipe the Fashion Fever credit card to "pay" and find out the remaining balance on your account. But don’t fret. Once the balance hits zero, it will reset so you can continue to shop.

Why would any parent want their child to be using fake credit cards at age 5?

When we were kids, I remember toy cash registers. They had plastic money in them and you could learn how to make change--addition and subtraction, if you will.
I saw an ad recently for a play “ATM”, where you could insert your play “debit card” and get cash out! (Today’s equivalent of the toy cash register, no doubt!)

For any voter trying to choose between the two candidates for commander in chief, there is no better test than this: When American strategy in a critical theater was up for grabs, John McCain proposed a highly unpopular and risky path, which he accurately predicted could lead to success. Barack Obama proposed a popular and politically safe route that would have led to an unnecessary and debilitating American defeat at the hands of al Qaeda.

Injecting consumerism in tiny minds, not a bad ploy considering future needs.

"Consumerism”?

Leftie political philosophy, from a DU commenter:

It doesn’t matter if it’s true or not. RUMOR IS TRUTH. The modern laws of media hype and political warfare have a useful tenet: Repeat ANYTHING or raise false concern over ANYTHING and it is likely to be planted in the conscious/subconscious of many voters.

I collect all the fake credit cards from junk mail and allow the child care kids to play store with them. It only took but a few minutes of observation to change the credit cards to debit cards only.
LOL, I don’t think the Barbie credit card is a wise move ... fact it’s rather stupid.
