Let’s Play a Game

Last night, my wife mentioned that some of the high school kids she teaches were bandying about the theory that gas prices will go back up after the election.  Apparently, we don’t teach sound economic theory any more.  It got me thinking about a game we can all play.  Let’s predict what the Democratic spin will be with the various election results/gas prices scenarios.

Scenario 1:  Republicans keep control, gas prices rise.

Of course, this was the plan all along.  Lower prices to trick voters in to pulling the R lever, then gouge them again after keeping control.

Scenario 2:  Democrats win control, gas prices fall.

The oil companies know their goose is cooked since Democrats will uncover all their shenanigans.  They are lowering prices to make nice with the American people before the hammer falls.

Scenario 3:  Democrats win control, gas prices rise.

Big oil knows that they are about to feel the pain from Congress, so they better gouge the Ameerican people while they still can.

Scenario 4:  Republicans retain control, gas prices fall.

This is really just a trick to fool people even further.  They hope that people will believe the hogwash about “market forces” determining the price of gas.  Fools!

I tell you what; this is a winning formla for the Democrats all around.  The only thing that might trip them up is the American people actually using their brains and figuring out that the market and not a political party determines the price of gas.

Doesn't that sound like fun?

Maybe the leftie-geniuses can tell us what President Bush has done to raise gas prices.  (And what Clinton did to keep them low)

What’s going to happen to US industry when the global warming extremists like John McCain double the price of electricity?  I would think all these factories will close and set up in countries where they aren’t scared of technology.
