Leftist Method of Debate Bingo
Yes, we know about Leftist Buzzword bingo—see how many pat phrases a Leftist uses in any given post or thread, if your card gets enough matches up and down, left to right or on the diagonal, you can sound of with ‘Commie Bingo! ’ and win a stuffed animal or cheap plastic toy imported from Hong Kong. (Okay, so I lying about the prize)
But in addition to just looking for words or phrases, how about methodologies?
One such methodology is recognized recently by Glenn Sacks, thus:
... [D]istorting opponents’ words beyond recognition and then vilifying them for what they (didn’t) say.
There are other methods, of course:
—the Change the Subject;
—the Moral Equivalence (counter)attack;
—the Ad Homnium;
—the Reductio ad Absurdum;
and my all time favorite
—Shouting down your opponent.
So gang, get your Commie Bingo cards ready and even consider submitting some other recognizable Statist debate tactics for additions to the Bingo Card.
