Lay Off My Che

You’ll remember that Maria Isabel is a Houston area volunteer for the Barack Obama campaign who was interviewed by a local TV station back in February about her volunteer office where she happened to have a Cuban flag hanging on the wall with an image of Che Guevara on it.................

...............They advised her that she could continue to speak on behalf of the campaign but was “prohibited” from talking about the flag because “what happens, what happens is that is that there are a lot of groups that, well, some people like Che Guevara and other people don’t like Che Guevara and that if I appear on television talking about the flag it would cause a lot of distractions. When asked who told her that, she answers flatly, “Barack Obama.”..............

One would figure that one of these days, liberals could admit that Che was a mass murdering Commie, but I guess there’s even Stalin chic and Mao chic out there, too.

What is more hilarious is having a Peace Sign anywhere near a CHE banner.

It’s so very odd how the Left picks its heroes to worship and determine what is chic.

Take the Mao and Che t-shirts, Soviet wristwatches, Chi-Com handbags (hello Cameron Diaz?) and swap the Swastika for the Hammer and Sickle, or Heydrich, Mengele, or Adoplh himself for logos to adorn the chic-wear…

Would it be cool then?  If so, why?

If not, what is the difference between Nazi KZ (concentration camps) and Soviet GULAGs or Chi-Com Lao-Gai?

Aside from the fact that the Soviets and Chi-Com murdered, tortured, starved to death or just executed far more people over a far longer time, I don’t see a substantial difference between the regimes and especially why one is loathed and the other two so, so cool.

...for great justice
