It’s Baaaaack - McCain and Amnesty for Illegals

28vwpbn.jpg

Yes, in the raucous blowback from the McCain-Bush Comprehensive Immigration Reform a.k.a. Amnesty for Si se puede! Illegals, McCain first told Americans to just calm down. Then, after getting an earful at each Townhall meeting he attended, he told us he gotten the message.

Apparently not.

McCain, Obama court Hispanic voters

It will be my top priority yesterday, today and tomorrow,” McCain said. “We have to secure our borders ... but we also must proceed with a temporary worker program that is verifiable and truly temporary. We must also understand that 12 million people are here, and they are here illegally, and they are God’s children.” He promised to address the issue in “a humane and compassionate fashion.”

It doesn’t take a crystal ball to see that the corpse of Amnesty for Illegals will be revived by a President McCain and there won’t be a damn thing the rest of America has to say about it… because ... don’t ya know… he’s Republican.

It should be obvious to any thinking person that you can’t administer any sort of guest worker program, or even a temporary visa or citizenship program, if you can’t control your border.  How would we know who is who?  McCain’s just bullshitting on this one.

Leftie political philosophy, from a DU commenter:

It doesn’t matter if it’s true or not. RUMOR IS TRUTH. The modern laws of media hype and political warfare have a useful tenet: Repeat ANYTHING or raise false concern over ANYTHING and it is likely to be planted in the conscious/subconscious of many voters.

I’m probably going to post on this as well.  It seems to me that McCain’s claiming some kind of compassionate high ground for his amnesty scheme.

So it makes me wonder how far does his compassion extend.  I would think that Mexican-Mexicans that respect our laws deserve more compassion.  He should take care of them as well.  (With his own money of course).

Does his compassion translate to other criminals guilty of misdemeanors and felonies?  Why not?

What’s going to happen to US industry when the global warming extremists like John McCain double the price of electricity?  I would think all these factories will close and set up in countries where they aren’t scared of technology.

Update:

Analysis: Rivals hide immigration similarities

McCain and Sen. Edward M. Kennedy, D-Mass., were leading advocates of the measure, which died in the Senate amid criticism that it offered amnesty to illegal immigrants.

It was a claim that contributed to the near collapse of McCain’s presidential candidacy last summer, as he frequently acknowledged. Over and over, the Arizona senator told campaign audiences he had gotten the message, and border security would henceforth come first.

On Saturday, addressing a group of influential Latino officials with the presidential nomination in hand, there was no explicit mention of a path to legal status for those in the country illegally. Yet he sounded resolute wanting to pass comprehensive immigration legislation.

Hmmmm.

Lucky thing we Gringos here in America don’t speak Spanish, we might catch wind of him saying one thing to us (to get our votes) and promising the exact opposite to Mexicans who are here illegally.

...for great justice
