It is time to tell McCain not to nominates Ridge.

This statement couldn’t be further from the truth. I thing conservatives need beg John McCain not to nominate that RINO, he was an utter failure as a congressman and would be a horrible pick as a Vice President.

This move would alienate conservative voters and hand the keys to the Oval office to BHO. It might be time to flood the McCain HQ with phone calls.

Ridge: GOP Would Accept Abortion-Rights VP Sunday, August 17, 2008 12:05 PM

WASHINGTON - Former Pennsylvania Gov. Tom Ridge said Sunday he thinks Republicans would accept a vice presidential candidate who supports abortion rights.

But, he said, whomever John McCain picks as a running mate should defer to McCain on the issue.

McCain opposes abortion rights, but he riled some conservatives last week when he suggested his running mate could — like Ridge — support abortion rights.

“What he was saying to the rest of the world is that we need to accept both points of view,” Ridge said in a broadcast interview. “He’s not judgmental about me or my belief. He just disagrees with me.”

Ridge is believed to be on McCain’s short list of vice presidential candidates, though it would be a major break with Republican orthodoxy for McCain to pick a running mate who supports abortion rights.

“I think that would be up to, first of all, to John to decide whether he wants a pro-choice running mate; then we would have to see how the Republican Party would rally around it,” Ridge said. “At the end of the day, I think the Republican Party will be comfortable with whatever choice John makes.”

McCain’s statement last week was seen as an appeal to centrist voters. On Sunday, Ridge tried to soothe conservatives by stating that McCain’s view on the issue would prevail in a McCain administration.

“The last time I checked, the vice president is not an independent voice. He echoes the position of the president of the United States,” Ridge said. “I think it’s the responsibility of the vice president. If you’re unwilling or unable to do that, then I think you should defer to someone else.”

Ridge was interviewed on “Fox News Sunday.”

I honestly don’t think Johnny will do this.  He has been hammered since the early primaries that he was weak with the base.  He throws away 5% of the vote with a move like this.

Sorry, I just don’t believe John is this stupid.

Sorry, I just don’t believe John is this stupid.

He is actually that stupid.  Let’s just see if he is actually listening to anyone in his campaign office.

What’s going to happen to US industry when the global warming extremists like John McCain double the price of electricity?  I would think all these factories will close and set up in countries where they aren’t scared of technology.

I think he is that dumb as well AND IF HE DOES IT, there are a lot of conservatives that will be very upset with him. John NEEDS TO HAVE conservatives to win. He is arogant if he thinks other wise.

I am voting for McCain UNLESS he picks Lieberman or Ridge as running mates. I am wondering if these are trial baloons to see what they get for a reaction…

Like any candidate for the highest office in the land, McCain needs VOTES.  He will pick the running-mate who - in his estimation - will draw the greatest number of them.

If he is right, he may win.

If he is wrong, he may lose.

That’s how the system works.

If he picks the candidates like Ridge or Lieberman he WILL LOSE.
McCain can not afford to lose CONSERVATIVES… I am sick and tired of him thumbing true conservatives in the eye.

If McCain chose former Michigan Governor John Engler he’d be in the driver’s seat.

goon:  with so many conservatives saying they won’t vote for him no matter what , how likely is McCain to consider their views as paramount?

If you watched the forum last night, then you already know how much better John McCain is than Barack Obama.

Pennsylvania has 21 electoral College
votes, 270 makes a Presiident.
If O can get 18 more electoral votes than
Kerry did, he’s got the Job.

If conservatives will vote for McCain they’ll accept Ridge.
Who they gonna vote for , Putin?

I really doubt Obama can win.

As bad and as vomit-inducing as McCain is,

Obama doesn’t just occasionally step on his dick—he is marking time on that bad bear.  Perhaps it’s just a trial balloon but I heard-tell of possibly selecting Kerry as Obama’s running mate.

Still, an Obama win would be the DRILL NOW fight writ large.

Leftists —and Obama is nothing if not a Leftist—are far from the mainstream and will overplay their hand.  They will have generated so much ill-will in two years of their mis-governance that every branch of government subject to a vote will be primed for a sweeping Conservative victory in 2010.

McCain, however, once he is elected, will govern like a Hawkish Jimma Carter, if such a thing is possible.  He will have so despoiled the Republican brand that for once, when Joe Sixpack laments that there is no difference between Democrats and Republicans, he will be accurate—since they will really both be Democrat in every pejorative sense of the word .... in 2010 and 2012 and, since he will have packed the voting booths with newly-amnestied Mexican voters for Democrats --- it will be almost impossible for the America we know and love to ever make a comeback.

That is the reason that I will not vote for Juan McCain.  He may win, but it will be without my vote.

The more BHO talks the more the states go for McCain, that will be all undone if McCain picks the wrong candidate. I have to think that this is a trial balloon to see how it is recieved.

That is what a lot of us think… It is almost worth that wait, then conservatives can sweep back into the Senate and Congress to keep BHO at bay…

Unfortunately McCain is only less bad, maybe by a lot.

McCain will still do his best to move the US economy in the dumpster.  He doesn’t deserve anyone’s support.
