Iraq Troop Deaths and the Surge

The Surge is making progress that is impossible to ignore.  Most Americans are not concerned with Iraqi deaths.  It is sad to say, but before we invaded, folks could care less about Iraqis dying and the only ones that care now are the Lefties that are using it to justify how America is at fault for killing innocent babies and women and children because we are war mongers.

But here are the indisputable facts about the surge as told by Statistics, not Harry Reid and Nancy Pants.  These are the average per day number of body bags coming home via C-130.

We don’t measure success in reduced casualties, but the left has certainly used increased casualties as a measure of failure.  So maybe this simply means we are not failing as bad as we were.

THE SURGE CLIMAX TO THE ILLEGAL IRAQ WAR

Shops are opening...; that is such good news.

Now tell the American People how much this has cost them, socially and economically, to provide these wonderful benefits to Iraq; and how long will all of these American benefit last?

America has been so successful that perhaps she should next do the same favor for Iran?

I don’t have a figure on the cost of the War in Europe in the 1940’s, of the Korean War, or our occupation of Japan.

I love how the left loves to talk about fixing homelessness and providing healthcare and providing old age benefits.  I like to think that all of this money could have been allocated to domestic entitlement programs like universal healthcare and social security.  And maybe all of those benefits help a few people move out of poverty and a lot of people move from having to put their cell phones and cable TV bills on the credit card.  Because that is what domestic spending on poverty programs usually does.

I tend to weigh the benefits of liberating two countries of 25M each from abject poverty, economic sanctions, brutal regimes, and genocide into two developing world nations that are making solid economic and democratic progress as being of more value than giving some crack addict mother of 5 an extra $100 a month in her welfare check.  Or of some middle income family being able to spend that extra $300 a month that they are spending on health insurance contributions and co-pays on a new iPhone and car payment.

And which will pay dividends 100 years from now?  Giving universal healthcare to middle class folks or building a new democracy in Iraq and Afghanistan?  I like to think that Germany and Japan are still paying benefits and they helped us form a buffer from Soviet aggression.  Care to explain why the cost of our “occupation” there was worth it?

Note how the conversation has gone from Bush Lied Kids Died, to the war is unwinnable, to the Surge will never work, to “we could have spent the money on something else”.

What happened to the war is not winnable?  Now it is debating whether the cost is going to be worth it as opposed stating that we cannot win and we need to turn tail and run.

Whenever they are proved wrong, lefties just move the goalposts.  They will never admit the truth; that they were wrong, have always been wrong, and will continue to be wrong, unless they come back to the founding principles of the United States.

Lefties lie; it’s all they have. If they told the truth about what they really want for this country, they would never get elected to anything.

Save America; boycott the MSM.
