Impeach President Bush

As head of the executive branch of the US Government, President Bush oversees the “enforcement” branch of our legal framework.  President Bush is responsible for the enforcement of the laws that govern our border policy.  The president is culpable in the illegal egress of millions of undocumented illegal trespassers.

Is there any doubt that the Federal government has completely ignored our border laws?  The 1986 immigration reform act was supposed to seal the borders.  That didn’t seem to work… did it?

There should be no legislation affecting the status of the people here illegally until the Federal Government stops the influx and the enforcement of the “return policy”.

Senator Bill Nelson of Florida has been trying to impeach President Bush for some time.  His issue has been intelligence on Iraq.  I think he stands a better chance with ‘enforcement’ as his issue.

I’d rather that it not come to an impeachment… but I’d rather impeach the president than grant amnesty of our laws.

I’m not sure what to do with the people who are here illegally today, but that’s not my concern.  We need to get the borders under control.

If you feel remotely the same, please call your Senator and Representative!
Since Senators don’t represent the states anymore, they need to hear from you in order to form an opinion.

I could get onboard with this. And that is funny, Lik! On the sidebar is a video about recovering a crashed Spitfire, it is pretty good, too.

Yes.

Carrick,

There is some doubt?  Where?  How?

Seth, let’s just say that I’ve been involved in technology development associated with surveillance.  In the course of that, I’ve rubbed elbows with military people who provide support to the border patrol people. Based on what I’ve seen “completely ignored our laws” is more than a bit of an overstatement.

Our biggest problem has been with catch and release judges and DAs.  It’s very demoralizing as you might appreciate to risk your life apprehending coyotes to have the system turn around and release them.

I think there are a lot of very honest, hardworking and completely earnest people working on the problem of border security.  They have had the opportunity to study and see what works and doesn’t work.  It probably is a bit disheartening for them to see people who are relying on the media for their information of what is happening on the ground.

Yes there are problems that have to be fixed.  But we need the help of congress to do this.  We need more border patrol, we need better equipment (including surveillance cameras and UAVs), better legal guidance to cut down on DAs and judges who are soft on immigration, and so forth.

Carrick, I don’t doubt that there are earnest and hardworking law enforcement people in the system.  I was very disheartened to learn of the officers arrested for shooting a career drug runner.

So it’s clear, I don’t blame the border patrol for the current problem.  I blame the President.  Bush, Clinton, Bush, and Reagan.  They allow this to continue through not enforcing the laws that clearly define illegal ingress as a crime.

Our biggest problem has been with catch and release judges and DAs.  It’s very demoralizing as you might appreciate to risk your life apprehending coyotes to have the system turn around and release them.

The DA’s report to the executive branch.  Since illegally entering the country is a federal offense, wouldn’t the President be responsible for enforcement through the DA’s?  If they won’t prosecute the law breakers, then the president should find someone who will.  As for Judges… I’ve no idea what can be done here except for replacing them… They’re elected, right?

I understand your position and the plight of the border guards and police officers…

I still think that the Executive branch has completely ignored the laws and has flagrantly violated the trust of the citizens of the US.

Here is a poll:

Should we impeach President Bush? Simple yes or no.

Yes. Amnesty Bill is just the icing. His absolute refusal to secure our borders and his fence-sitting appeasement of the left concerning fighting GWoT are more than sufficient grounds as far as I am concerned.

And all senior members of Congress, both Parties, need thrown in the dock with him.
