Operation Chaos: Crossing The Line As a Reporter

The news may be late but the issue is still pertinent.  Is Rush Limbaugh overstepping his responsibilities as a reporter in Operation Chaos: his instructions that his listeners switch over and vote for Hillary in Indiana to create for a chaotic and drawn-out battle against Obama, weakening the nominee?

The difference he substantiated by his instructions, as reported by him, enabled Hillary to win.  If so, then he has successfully tampered with the votes--an incredible power.

Is it too much power? The Democrats DO have television, and Rush has talk-radio. I want your thoughts.

Comments

I’ll say what I want.

And you’ll get the consequences thereof.

As far as your bullshit about what’s important to me, it’s the truth; I’ll always stand up for the truth.

I leave you to your denial.

I repeat: I have no objection to criticism, but unsolicited advice is a sign of hostility.

I welcome criticism, especially if it’s fact or logic-based; advice is a sneaky way of criticizing someone without giving any relevant facts or logic; it is usually based on some attitude of superiority or is cloaked in solicitude.  Because it doesn’t deal directly with the subject at hand, it is not a basis for debate or discussion.

Zsa Zsa. R108’s problem is not sreadfastness and trueness to conservative principals. The man is a control freak. Surely you’d agree that anyone from time to time can be and is wrong. Your husband does not accept that he can be mistaken on occasion. That is the problem. He is not the final authority on anything. Yet he relishes portraying himself as such.
And woe to the person that dares point out that he may be wrong. I believe that your husband should to eat some humble pie, and ask for the forgiveness of those he unfairly called liers for simply expressing their opinions, and of the ones he so viciously attacked because they dared have a point of view that differed from his.

Those who think the party or the country, will be “taught a lesson” by handing the levers of power over to the liberals will learn a lesson, but it will be at the expense of our country and her liberties. We have stood by while the lefties controlled the public dialogue, and have supported the propagandists in the MSM by watching them on TV, going to their propaganda movies and buying the products of those who bankroll them.
Contrary to what you say, we got to where we are today by compromising our conservative principles for political expediency.  You couldn’t be more wrong.

I think when we allowed ourselves to believe we were helping able bodied people to attach themselves for generations to Big Gov. Social assistance programs, that is where we went wrong. AND when we allowed Big Gov. to confiscate funds towards a defunct Social “Security” retirement program that can not guarantee it will even be there for all hard working Americans. Any time we encourage and allow another Big Gov. program to be passed it sets us up for failure. Assisting individuals who are in need is great. BUT generation after generation of families relying on public assistance there is something reeeeeeally wrong!

We do have a 5,000 word limit here, so I couldn’t list all the Dem smoke and mirrors history, but I happen to consider SS near the top of the list.  Do you realize how much money has been sucked out of the private sector by this pyramid scheme, and how little it accomplishes?  The future obligations of SS are astounding.

robert108 on May 11, 2008 at 09:29 am

r108:  I can only speak from personal experience on SS.  My mom and dad were both hard-working people all their lives. They paid off their mortgage ahead of time. Owned one car all their lives. Never went on lavish vacations. Never owned a boat or other luxury. Paid for my college education without any loans and retired with a modest nest-egg and no debts.

But the monthly SS checks [which they contributed to from their pay] was the difference between modest comfort and penury.

But the monthly SS checks [which they contributed to from their pay] was the difference between modest comfort and penury.

Had their money not been confiscated, and if they had invested it prudently, they would have had far more than “modest comfort”.  I say again, the SS pyramid scheme has diverted mass quantities of dollars from productive use to essentially supporting a gigantic bureaucracy and doling out only a pittance to those who contributed to it.  Check the numbers.  Find out how much your parents total contribution was, multiply it by a reasonable return(minus taxes) and see the difference.

But the monthly SS checks [which they contributed to from their pay] was the difference between modest comfort and penury.

It was their money and had they invested it they would have been much better off.  Meanwhile people my age and younger are getting absolutely screwed over because of this Ponzi scheme.

It’s a terrible program.  Perhaps if the government had actually treated it like a savings program rather than a piggy bank it wouldn’t be such a disaster.  Still I think private people watching over their own money would be better.

By the way in order for me to get anything for all of the money I’ve paid into Social Security I have to acquiesce screwing over my children and their generation.  What a crappy program.

Zsa Zsa on May 11, 2008 at 11:27 am

well, rbb:  The fact that the 13 new states needed a stronger federal government and thus drafted a constitution, is not an indicator of centralism.

What the framers wrote in the document is the real heart of the matter.  The constitution was carefully crafted as a limit on the expressed powers of the federal government.

That we have strayed so far from that intent is another matter.

dirl126 on May 11, 2008 at 02:04 pm

dirl126.

Burning the flag is legal

We had a case prosecuted, later thrown out on a technicality by a certain person in SC.  Burning US, State and other flags is illegal by statute.  The US court may have judged in one case that it constituted an expression of speech, but as I remember, only in that case.  Many have taken this to mean that burning the US flag is legal.  The purpose of an amendment is to “overturn” the US Supreme Court’s ruling.  Then it would be “illegal” again, and enforceable.

But, free speech by anyone about exercising their right to vote is still legal.

/now, once a socialist/communist gets into power and packs the US court with more communists, then this radio, blog and even text messaging, phone conversations and perhaps whispering or thinking otherwise may cause one to be put into “reeducation schools”.  // That would be immoral and against what we fought for in 1776.  I say we because my forefathers died for my right to live in this free country.  I carried on my father’s patriotism.

The conservative road was built in 1776, when we declared our independence from Great Britain; a few years later, the Constitution was ratified, thus codifying the founding principles of our country and establishing the road map for the unique road by which conservatives still travel.

Have a nice swim.

dirl126 et al,
This is not exactly what I was looking for, but more recent:

Code of Ala. § 13A-6-28
§ 13A-6-28. Burning of cross or American flag
(a) A person commits the crime of cross or the American flag burning if he or she, with the intent to intimidate any person or group
of persons, burns, or causes to be burned, a cross or the American flag on the property of another, a highway, or other public place.
(b) As used in this section, “intent to intimidate” means the intent to place a person or a group of persons in fear of bodily harm.
(c) The crime of cross or the American flag burning is a Class C felony.
HISTORY: Acts 2003, No. 03-338.
NOTES: EFFECTIVE DATES. Acts 2003, No. 03-338, effective June 20, 2003

More later, especially SC including our State Flag.

dirl126 on May 11, 2008 at 03:14 pm

Zsa Zsa.  Yes.  I was there.  I can’t remember the technicality, but this one guy is our resident “hippy”.  Ran for SC rep.  lost.  Got permission to
squat on inhabitable land using an outhouse, lost in court about Presidential protected zones, etc.
Now I remember.  In the 1984 Bobbie Rossi case jury pool, he was present and tried to be excused on this felony.  His conviction was commuted by the Gov on time I think.

Chief RZ on May 11, 2008 at 03:30 pm

dirl126, Here is a snip:  A 5-4 Supreme Court decision in 1989 saying flag-burning was a protected free speech right!  In that case, cross burning, house burning or any burning, including tree burnings should be legal.  Smoking also even though I do not smoke.  In my opinion, this is a case of liberal/communist thinking.

Communism is evil

Chief RZ on May 11, 2008 at 03:32 pm

Sorry RZ, but I’m going to have to disagree.

As much as it breaks my heart and even fills me with rage to see the flag burned, the first Amendment is sacred.

And under it, the expression of burning the American flag is legal.
