How We Got into This MESS

This is my opinion, but since this is Say Anything, I have something to say.

I am so discouraged by our situation a la the election. How did we get here??

When we had the chance to unify behind a candidate we didn’t. We all had a favorite. So did the talk show Gurus. The problem is none of them were fully acceptable to all of us. So we didn’t get behind any ONE.  And now we have McCain and Obama.

Hugh Hewitt was Romney all the way
Rush flipped and Flopped - Thompson, then too late Romney
Michael Medved was McCain all the way
Mark Levin was against everyone, then late for Romney
and Micheal Savage only savaged Bush.

The end result is no unity. No one candidate ever emerged. Every one had a major problem. The Christian Conservatives had a candidate some liked but even that was fractured. Pat Robertson was endorsing Rudy Gulliani.

Meanwhile the Left was captured by a less than perfect charismatic candidate. Plus, and here’s the point, the left is not the brightest bunch in the crate (read Daily Koss or Huffington Post to see how bright these folks really are). Since they are easily fooled they were fooled into nominating an inexperienced equal opportunity candidate. Kind of like they do at the DMV.

I think we have ourselves to blame for this mess. I hope that the talking head opinion makers will get a clue. We did this to ourselves because we are bull headed. I count myself in that. Can this happen again? I don’t know if Obama is elected that we won’t have Robert Mugabe elections like in Zimbabwe.  IF we ever get a chance again to vote in free in fair elections I hope we don’t blow it.

We are so screwed.

You are correct Gene, I blame the gop for this mess too.

Excuse me, you were saying?

Gene,

Bush did this to us 8 years ago when he selected Cheney.  Cheney stated right out of the gate that this was his last public job and he had no intentions of running again.  Thus we headed into this election with no encumbent on a ticket of any party.

Going into the primary next time may be similar to the last 2-years we went through.  Simply because we don’t have that “it” factor candidate out there.  Perhaps the Gov of Lousianna Jindl is the right person.  Who knows.  But this ball was put in place 8-years ago.
