Hold the Cheese, or Pay Me $10 million!

Remember the guy with the $67 Million pants? Well, this guy has a better case, but not by much!

A Morgantown man, his mother and his friend are suing McDonald’s for $10 million.

The man says he bit into a hamburger and had a severe allergic reaction to the cheese melted on it.

Jeromy Jackson, who is in his early 20s, says he clearly ordered two Quarter Pounders without cheese at the McDonald’s restaurant in Star City before heading to Clarksburg.

His mother Trela Jackson and friend Andrew Ellifritz are parties to the lawsuit because they say they risked their lives rushing Jeromy to United Hospital Center in Clarksburg.

The lawsuit alleges Jeromy “was only moments from death” or serious injury by the time he reached the hospital.

Just to recap: A slice of cheese will kill me, so I’m going to trust a bunch of teenagers making minimum wage (or a little better) not to screw up my order...because I asked them not to! (Sheesh!)

Me? I’d flip open the bun on every burger I didn’t make myself for the rest of my life...so that it wouldn’t be the rest of my life!

Shoulda gone to Burger King and had it his way! smile

UPDATE: After I posted this, I ran across another post on Darwin's Burger Boy at Rachel Lucas. She Googled the distance between Clarksville and Star City at 38 miles! (I checked it at 31.5)
So, he drove over half an hour before he took a bite out of his first cold burger. Mmmmmm! Them's good eats!

That poor guy, how horrible. That teenager that was responsible for making the two Quarter Pounders without cheese should be charged with attempted murder.

The thought of having to look under every bun when you order a burger. This poor guy deserves reparations, He is truly a victim here. This McDonald’s location should be closed down until all there employees learn to correctly fulfill orders.

I can’t imagine any jury depriving Him compensation for all His anguish, Perish the thought. smile

10 million dollars?

Jeromy Jackson just put a price tag on his cheap life.

WETBACK makes a good point! (Man! I can’t believe I just said that!) smile But, in lieu of the $10 million, I suggest we get that judge to give him some nice $67 million pants to be buried in!
(Sounds like he’ll be needing them soon, if he doesn’t start taking responsibility for his own sorry ass!)

Anyone who knows they have a “severe” allergy to any food can not have anything that comes into contact with the allergen either.

Jeromy Jackson suffered injuries to his body and mind and has incurred medical expenses. Jackson, his mother and friend claim to have suffered mental anguish, pain and suffering and a loss of enjoyment of life.

I am speechless .. ok, not literally but I am appalled.  Obviously, these people are a few buns short of a full order.

If I had a severe food allergy, I’d probably take it upon myself to inspect my burgers before woofing them down instead of trusting that to the sort of low-skill workers Mcdonald’s employs.

I’m sure his wife would be quite happy to take every last penny from him.

I’ve known people who have real life threatening food allergies. They didn’t eat fast food and they always carried epi-pins in case something got past their constant vigilance over their food.
