He Said He Said Misunderstanding

Senator Larry Craig arrested and pleads guilty to airport bathroom “misunderstanding”.

Now I’ve been in many an airport bathroom including the Minneapolis airport and have yet to have a “misunderstanding” there.

Well, sadly, I get mobbed by women everywhere I go who mistake my charm, humor and rugged handsomeness for come-ons.

I can’t help it.  Being so attractive is a curse.

Typical leftie intolerance of homosexuality...when it’s a Republican who’s gay.

Not so much that he is gay....but a hypocrite.

Not so much that he is gay....but a hypocrite.

Just wondering what you think he is a hypocrite about.

likwidshoe on August 29, 2007 at 11:07 am

dallas: You are ignoring the hypocrisy of smearing someone for doing what you claim is “mainstream”.  How convenient.

likwid: As far as I know, the leftie “hypocrisy” smear against him is based on the fact that he didn’t support so-called “gay marriage”.  For the lefties, those on their plantation have no choice on any of their pet issues.  If you’re gay, you must support “gay marriage”.  Typical leftie totalitarianism.  They also hate others who have left their plantation to become Republicans.

Fair enough,

Being gay and being actively anti-gay.

dallas on August 29, 2007 at 11:20 am

Who smeared him?  A smear implies a lie.  Who has lied about him?

Quote please.

dallas on August 29, 2007 at 11:22 am

dallas - Being gay and being actively anti-gay.

How is he “actively anti-gay”?

Serious question.

Also still wondering what you think he is a hypocrite about.

likwidshoe on August 29, 2007 at 11:28 am

A smear implies a lie.

Not necessarily; in fact, it’s usually an exaggeration or by stating one quality without stating the other qualities; in other words, a biased description that may contain some truth, but which is essentially misleading.  A favorite leftie tactic, btw.
Chomsky depends on it.

Being gay and being actively anti-gay.

Even if he is gay(and that remains unproven), when did he lose his right to choose what to support and not support?

If you don’t know by now, don’t mess with it.

robert108 on August 29, 2007 at 11:32 am

r108,

I never said he did not have the “right” to support or not support anything.  You like to misdirect conversations to your benefit so you don’t look as foolish.

He has the right to be gay, he has the right to stay in the close or come out, he has the right to plead guilty of lewd conduct (I think the officer in question made a mountain out of a mole hill), he has the right to be a hypocrite, just like you have the right to be speak your mind no matter how wrong or fact twisted your words are.

dallas on August 29, 2007 at 02:10 pm

...he has the right to be a hypocrite...

Still wondering what the guy is a hypocrite about.

I suspect that you just like claiming it.

likwidshoe on August 29, 2007 at 02:18 pm

lik,

If we are being serious… I will indulge you.  First I think we will be hard pressed to find someone who will say that he did not make a pass at another man in the bathroom.

Seeing that he was making a homosexual advance and then denying he is a homosexual - hypocritical? Yes.  In his press conferece he is viciously denying that he is gay, obviously self loathing.

He is the same type of hypocrite as Ted Haggard.  They hate what they are. Mark Foley was not a hypocrite, just a perv going after the young pages...he was wrong, but not a hypocrite.

Just for you reading pleasure, here is Craig’s voting record when it comes to gay issues.  Some may call his voting record hypocritical...I don’t. He should vote the way the people he represents want him to vote.  If his voters want gay marriage, he should vote for it, if they don’t he shouldn’t.  Same with the Iraq war.

Voting straight down party lines is idiotic and mindless.....did your read that r108?

Voting straight down party lines is idiotic and mindless.....did your read that r108?

Not if that Party represents your wishes for this country, and the other one represents unAmerican values; it’s just good sense.
What I said was that assuming someone has to vote a certain way because he is a member of one of your favored groups, and trying to destroy him when he doesn’t follow your dictates, is totalitarian.

If you don’t know by now, don’t mess with it.

robert108 on August 29, 2007 at 02:39 pm

dallas: Does he have the right to be free of your partisan criticism for voting the way he chooses?
Your rationalizations are as twisted as any I’ve seen.

If you don’t know by now, don’t mess with it.

robert108 on August 29, 2007 at 02:41 pm

trying to destroy him when he doesn’t follow your dictates,

Hey, I’m not the one searching for man-love.  He made his own bed.

Does he have the right to be free of your partisan criticism for voting the way he chooses?

I did not criticize him at all for the way he votes.  Get educated and read with comprehension.  Talk about twisted.

I will give you and your monkey-brain a banana if you can quote my “critizism” of his voting record.

dallas on August 29, 2007 at 03:26 pm

that is “criticism”

dallas on August 29, 2007 at 03:27 pm

Does he have the right to be free of your partisan criticism for voting the way he chooses?

Actually, no. If I chose to criticize him.

dallas on August 29, 2007 at 03:30 pm

Hey, I’m not the one searching for man-love.  He made his own bed.

You lefties keep telling us that “searching for man-love"(accused, but not convicted), is just fine, mainstream, and maybe even “normal”.  Isn’t it hypocritical of you to criticize him for being accused of doing that which you think is OK?

Actually, no. If I chose to criticize him.

True, but your criticism is for not voting the way you want him to vote, according to your stereotype of him.  That’s also hypocritical, especially since you lefties support homosexuality(except when Republicans are accused of it).

If you don’t know by now, don’t mess with it.

Dallas, are you saying there’s something wrong with men loving other men?

Yet another tolerant lefty heard from.  I guess it’s only ok to be gay if you’re liberal.

Rob,

Where did I say there was something wrong with men loving men? I have CLEARLY pointed out that it was the hypocrisy not the fact he was gay.  I have pointed out how he was a hypocrite in my above posts.

Yet another rightie spinning words to make a point because they don’t have facts on their side.

dallas on August 29, 2007 at 07:47 pm

r108 you said,

“True, but your criticism is for not voting the way you want him to vote, according to your stereotype of him.”

I said,

“Just for you reading pleasure, here is Craig’s voting record when it comes to gay issues.  Some may call his voting record hypocritical...I don’t. He should vote the way the people he represents want him to vote.  If his voters want gay marriage, he should vote for it, if they don’t he shouldn’t.  Same with the Iraq war.”

Where in your little brain do you find me criticizing his voting record?

Typical rightie, not even stretching the truth....just outright lying.

dallas on August 29, 2007 at 07:57 pm

dallas: I’ll brush away your adolescent namecalling, and choose to relate to you as if you were an intelligent adult.  You called him a hypocrite(a criticism, I believe, so you criticized him), and the basis for your accusation of hypocrisy was that he voted against gay issues.  Now, he might have done that, if he is a homosexual(a fact not in evidence), if he found his own homosexual desires had been detrimental to him in his life, and sincerely felt that it was a bad choice for others, in which case he would be sincere, not hypocritical.  Am I going too fast for you?
Now, you can try to spin it any way you want, but you criticized him, and it was for the way he voted, at least on gay issues, since you maintain it would be hypocritical for him to vote against gay issues while being gay(a fact not in evidence).  In my book, that’s criticizing him for his voting record.  It’s not that difficult a concept, is it?

Right here:

Hey, I’m not the one searching for man-love.  He made his own bed.

[...]

dallas on August 29, 2007 at 04:26 pm

You twist and lie, as usual.  Maybe now you will lie again, and claim that “He made his own bed.” is a compliment on his neatness.  /sarcasm

If you don’t know by now, don’t mess with it.

robert108 on August 29, 2007 at 08:33 pm

You called him a hypocrite(a criticism, I believe, so you criticized him), and the basis for your accusation of hypocrisy was that he voted against gay issues.

Where do you get this?

My basis for calling him a hypocrite was:

“Seeing that he was making a homosexual advance and then denying he is a homosexual - hypocritical? Yes.  In his press conferece he is viciously denying that he is gay, obviously self loathing.”

Where do you get off lying - oh you have no points or purpose.

Yes, he did make his own bed and he must live with the consequences...we ALL do.  What are you...a communist?
