Hanoi Hilton Host Backs His Guest

Speaking to the BBC from Haiphong, Tran Trong Duyet also insisted that McCain’s assertions that he was tortured during his time at the prison were lies, and that no one held there was ever subjected to torture.

Describing McCain as his “friend”, Duyet told the broadcaster: “If I was American, I would vote for him.”

..."Of course the Americans started the war in Vietnam and killed so many people—but now we want to leave the past behind.

“So now I consider John McCain my friend because he did much to mend relations between our two countries. And if he becomes president he will do more to improve those ties.”

He also told the BBC that McCain’s assertions that he was tortured were false. “We never tortured him,” he was quoted as saying.

“We never tortured any prisoners ... He did not tell the truth.

“But I can somehow sympathise with him. He lies to American voters in order to get their support for his presidential election.”

Sound familiar:

“We never tortured any prisoners ... He did not tell the truth.

I’m just surprised that bush is using the Viet Cong’s definition of torture.

McCain did, for good or ill, reach out to his former captors and tormentors. Since he suffered torture beyond all human endurance, how could we question his charity towards his former enemies? Isn’t that what Christ would have us all do?

I suspect Duyet is trying to counterbalance the many endorsements of Obama by terrorists and terrorist states; putting a former enemy in McCain’s column to give Obama the chance to say, ‘well what about the Viet Cong endorsing McCain?”

If I am not mistaken Hamas is welcoming the presidency of BHO.

So now these leftards want us to believe that the VC didn’t torture McCain. Yeah ok, right… This is bs, I am going to believe a decorated war veteran before I am going to believe some two bit thug from the enemy.

RBB should be ashamed of himself for even posting this article. Did you serve in the Military RBB?

"realitybased"bob asks, Neiman, please link to a terrorist or terrorist state that has endorsed Obama.

How about Fidel Castro:

“the most progressive candidate to the U.S. presidency”

How about Ahmed Yousef, a leader of Hamas:

“We don’t mind–actually we like Mr. Obama. We hope he will (win) the election and I do believe he is like John Kennedy, great man with great principle, and he has a vision to change America to make it in a position to lead the world community but not with domination and arrogance,”

Ignore the ugly reality, Mr. “realitybased"bob.

likwidshoe on June 23, 2008 at 07:18 pm

He also is full of opinions, and on Monday he gave Senator Barack Obama an endorsement of sorts, calling him “the most progressive candidate to the U.S. presidency” while also berating him for his plan to continue the trade embargo against Cuba. “Were I to defend him, I would do his adversaries an enormous favor,” Mr. Castro said. “I have therefore no reservations about criticizing him.”

...Update: The headline was altered to avoid the misinterpretation that Mr. Castro’s remarks represented a formal endorsement.

Ahmed Yousef is a Dick Morris of Hammas.

Democratic presidential hopeful Barack Obama has received an endorsement he might well wish he hadn’t — from the militant Palestinian group Hamas.

Ahmed Yousuf, Hamas’ top political adviser in the Gaza Strip, delivered his endorsement in an interview with WorldNetDaily and WABC Radio in New York.

“We like Mr. Obama, and we hope that he will win the elections,” Yousuf said.

“I do believe [Obama] is like John Kennedy, a great man with a great principle. And he has a vision to change America, to [put] it in a position to lead the world community, but not with humiliation and arrogance.”

The U.S. and Israel have been seeking to isolate Hamas, which seized control of Gaza in June and is classified by the State Department as a terrorist group.

Sorry goon. You’re a little late to the party.

Real nice try though.

Hamas promply unendorsed Obama, a Christian who has had difficulty dispelling a rumor campaign suggesting he is a Muslim and that his advisers have a pro-Arab bent.

“Obama’s comments have confirmed that there will be no change in the U.S. administration’s foreign policy on the Arab-Israeli conflict,” Hamas official Sami Abu Zuhri told Reuters in Gaza.

“The Democratic and Republican parties support totally the Israeli occupation at the expense of the interests and rights of Arabs and Palestinians,” he said.

“Hamas does not differentiate between the two presidential candidates, Obama and McCain, because their policies regarding the Arab-Israel conflict are the same and are hostile to us, therefore we do have no preference and are not wishing for either of them to win,” Zuhri said.

Tyrants and Terrorists for Obama.....

During an interview on WABC radio Sunday, <b>top Hamas political adviser Ahmed Yousef said the terrorist group supports Obama’s foreign policy vision.

“We don’t mind–actually we like Mr. Obama. We hope he will (win) the election</b> and I do believe he is like John Kennedy, great man with great principle, and he has a vision to change America to make it in a position to lead the world community but not with domination and arrogance,” Yousef said in response to a question about the group’s willingness to meet with either of the Democratic presidential candidates.

Two years ago, Hatem El-Hady was the chairman of the Toledo, Ohio-based Islamic charity, Kindhearts, which was closed by the US government in February 2006 for terrorist fundraising and all its assets frozen. Today, El-Hady has redirected his fundraising efforts for his newest cause - Barack Obama for President.

El-Hady has his own dedicated page on Barack Obama’s official website, chronicling his fundraising on behalf of the Democratic Party presidential candidate (his Obama profile established on February 19, 2008 - two years to the day after Kindhearts was raided by the feds). Not only that, but he has none other than Barack Obama’s wife, Michelle Obama, listed as one of his friends, one of her 224 listed friends.

The racist NBPP (New Black Panther Party) is led by notorious extremist, Malik Zulu Shabazz, and (was) a registered team member and blogger on Obama’s campaign website. His page has been scrubbed twice at last count.

In the wake of the 9/11 terrorist attacks, Shabazz defended Osama bin Laden and blamed President Bush for the horrors of that day.

“I have nothing but respect for Obama and for his pastor,” said Shabazz, referring to Jeremiah Wright, Obama’s pastor of nearly 20 years.

Shabazz referred to Obama as a man with a “Muslim background, a man of color.”

According to information obtained, FARC Terrorists were hoping and expecting that Barack Obama would win the US elections in November because he was most aligned with the Colombian Marxist group.

The gringos will ask for an appointment with the minister to solicit him to communicate to us his interest in discussing these topics. They say that the new president of their country will be Obama and that they are interested in your compatriots. Obama will not support “Plan Colombia” nor will he sign the TLC (Colombian Free Trade agreement).

Fidel Castro:

“The word today is that an apparently unbeatable ticket could be Hillary for president and Obama as her running mate,” he wrote in an editorial column on U.S. presidents published on Tuesday by Cuba’s Communist Party newspaper, Granma.

The head of a radical group that funds and supports Islamic terrorists as well as an America-bashing South American socialist leader has bundled more than $50,000 for Barack Obama’s presidential campaign.

Jodie Evans, co-founder of the anti-war group Code Pink, is a huge Obama supporter who has personally given his campaign the federal limit ($2,300) and continues to collect big bucks—$50,000 and counting—from friends and associates in an effort to help the Illinois senator, a favorite among Latin American socialist leaders, move into the White House.

Code Pink also gave $600,000 to the families of Iraqi terrorists in Fallujah, whom they claimed were fighting for their homes.

Speaking to thousands of members of the Nation of Islam at their annual convention Sunday in Chicago, Minister Louis Farrakhan praised presidential candidate Sen. Barack Obama as the only hope for healing the nation’s racial divisions.

Arab American Action Network, (or AAAN):

A group that mourns the establishment of Israel as a “catastrophe” and supports the terrorist activities of the Palestinians.

In 2001, the Woods Fund, a Chicago-based nonprofit that describes itself as a group helping the disadvantaged, provided a $40,000 grant to the Arab American Action Network, or AAAN, for which Khalidi’s wife, Mona, serves as president. The Fund provided a second grant to the AAAN for $35,000 in 2002.

Obama was a director of the Woods Fund board from 1999 to Dec. 11, 2002, according to the Fund’s website. According to tax filings, Obama received compensation of $6,000 per year for his service in 1999 and 2000.

The Chosun Sinbo, the mouthpiece of North Korea’s Japanese front organization Chongryon and often for the North Korean regime itself, has announced its preference for Obama over McCain:

We will see a better relationship between the U.S. and the Korean Peninsula with Obama, who sternly criticizes Bush and who would meet the leader of Chosun without pre-conditions, than with the “Bush clone” and scarecrow of the neocons McCain.

Even a Lefty Blogger Taylor Marsh
understands:

This is the vein in the Democratic party I will never understand, cannot accept on any level. What is it about some people who just don’t get the problems with our Democratic nominee being friendly, even taking a contribution (however small), as well as having a meeting as recently as 1995 with an unrepentant domestic terrorist like William Ayers? It reveals a lack of seriousness about the issue of terrorism and the dangerously immature judgment of anyone who is going to associate with a man, at the very least, that Republicans will use to beat us over the head with, having the bonus of hitting a spot the public loves to drink up, which is that our party is not serious about the dangers we face in this world.

The facts are quite clear:

1. William Ayers conducted terrorist attacks inside the United States and against the U.S. Government. He does not consider himself a terrorist, but he admits he did the acts.

2. Barack Obama has had a long standing relationship with Ayers and is quite knowledgeable of his past.

3. Barack and Ayers served together on the Wood Fund. I am told, but have not yet confirmed, that they steered money to an individual who is under Federal indictment. If that is true, life gets more interesting.

4. William Ayers made a small financial contribution to Obama’s first campaign. In the total scheme of things, not significant, except it will be used by Republicans against Obama in the fall. How do you explain to Joe or Jane Average American that a guy who describes U.S. Marines as terrorists not only gave you money but also helped raise money for your campaign? Do you really think most Americans will shrug and say, “No big deal”?

There is ALOT to question Obama about.

With Obama being nearly a blank slate, no real background in Sentate, no bills, no real work done by Obama, no crossing the aisle to get the job done....those associations will stick out more.

"realitybased"bob - can you tell the difference between the names of Ahmed Yousef and Sami Abu Zuhri? They’re two different people. The former endorsed him, the latter did not.

Claiming that there was an “unendorsement” because one guy doesn’t like him while the other does is stretching the truth just a bit, is it not?

You don’t have to answer with another lie. Honesty from you would be “Change” that’s not going to be coming anytime soon, if ever. There’s “Hope” that you’ll come around one day, but let’s be realistic.

Exactly.

Hamas does not endorse Obama.

The Chosun Sinbo is a newspaper, not a state.

Kindhearts was not a state. I don’t think there were any arrests were there? How’s that Sea of Davids coming along?

I don’t know the facts behind how those web pages got onto his web site, nutters tend to lie about such things, so I’ll stand behind Doubting Tom on that one.

Ok! Some unsavory characters prefer one presidential candidate and some prefer the other. So all of you stay home and don’t vote. Didn’t Reagan endorse Marcos of the Philippines, and after the election was declared stolen he came on TV and said Marcos won fare and square? What is the difference?
Oh! By the way, does any of you know who David Duke will vote for?

ellinas on June 23, 2008 at 09:40 pm

RCB, you can quibble about whether they’re technically terrorists or not all day, but reality is that senior officials at Hamas, in North Korea, in Cuba, and other havens of totalitarianism have endorsed Barack Obama.  That ought to give any sane supporter of his some great pause, no?

And surreal that this guy is trying to deny torture by those holding our prisoners at the Hanoi Hilton--it’s as if he thinks that there are no vets out there who can show someone their scars and say “I got this, and that, and that, and that there.” It’s as if he thinks that nobody remembers the pictures of our boys coming back looking like they just got out of Auschwitz.
