Getting Jailed for Not Mowing Your Lawn

The City Council of Canton, Ohio has decided its citizens should be fined, then jailed if they do not keep their lawns clean-cut.

Reminds me of getting jailed in East Grand Forks, MN for having a trashy car in your yard.

Around here municipalities won’t put you in jail, but they will fine you heavily, place liens and take your house.

We have covenants in our community covering things like this.  You don’t want your neighbor’s yard with grass so high that snakes and rats might take up residence.  Now you do not have to live here, and must sign on to the covenants before a house will be sold to you.  This is different.

Today I am in Farmington, New Mexico with my husband on business. I think there must be a covenant that you MUST have a lot of scrap metal and trash in your yard. It is unreal how many Trailers are in this State!

If I had lived in Canton this past spring, I would be serving hard time.

Just got around to cutting my grass this past weekend. Been under the weather for 3 or 4 months.

I cut the grass and did find that pickup truck I thought was stolen back in March.
