GE -They bring Good Things to Light!
Remember that NFL pre-game show on NBC (parent company: GE) where they turned off the in-studio lights for a whole ninety seconds to show just how green they could be?
Well, there was a “puff piece” tonight on Cleveland’s NBC outlet, channel 3, about an East Cleveland tradition of Christmas lights along a seven block stretch of a street in front of...a GE (!) manufacturing plant, whose workers put out over a million Christmas lights on display for the entire month of December.
Now, I like Christmas lights about as much as anybody else. But, does anyone see the inconsistency of 90 seconds of “green” vs. a month of “conspicuous consumption”?
(BTW, the picture is apropos of nothing, other than it was the closest thing to a “Friday Night Babe” I could find with Christmas lights!)
