Garrison Keillor: Let Republicans Die
Garrison Keillor, the “Lake Wobegon” author and National Public Radio icon, is offering a solution to a couple of the nation’s problems with one swoop: Give members of the GOP “aspirin and hand sanitizer” but if they have more complicated health issues, let them die.
In his Chicago Tribune column, Keillor wrote, “One starts to wonder if the country wouldn’t be better off without them and if Republicans should be cut out of the health-care system entirely and simply provided with aspirin and hand sanitizer.”
He continued, “Thirty-two percent of the population identifies with the GOP, and if we cut off health care to them, we could probably pay off the deficit in short order.”
This follows the asinine charge by U.S. Rep. Alan Grayson, D-Fla., that Republicans’ health care plan for the sick is to “die quickly.”
While we know most liberals are brain dead jackasses, at least Keillor has an excuse for it, he recently suffered a stroke and has a clinical diagnosis to prove it in his case.
Seriously, all sense of civil debate on Health Care Reform was ended by the liberals because the people, their bosses, dared to rise up at Tea Parties and Town Hall meetings and voice their opposition to the severe socialist changes of the party in power on this and other key issues. The Democrats know they cannot win the debate based on the issues, in the marketplace of ideas they are going bankrupt, so they are getting more shrill and desperate, they see the wheels coming off their Leftist Express and the possibility of huge election defeats in the next couple of election cycles. So, it is either paint the GOP as agents of the devil that want to kill people, including children or lose these precious issues.
I feel sorry for Keillor. Grayson, Pelosi, Reid and the others, they are reacting out of craven fear, desperate people willing to say and do desperate things out of a lust for power.
