Eve of Destruction* by Barry McGuire is a protest song, and the answer song made is called the Dawn of Correction by the Spokesmen. I was proudly on the Dawn Of Correction side. I was a small child at the time but I remember standing firm on my belief no matter what others said.

*of course I still sang along with Eve of Destruction at least a million times but, what can I say ... I was just a dumb child then

I remember the Dawn of Correction. I agreed with the message more than Barry’s, but they sounded so wimpy when they sang! Not nearly as big a hit!

Yep ... notice I never mentioned I sang along to that one. lol

Barry also did a nice, gravelly voiced rendition of “Try to remember” on that album that I was rather fond of.
