First action shot on Mars

Image take by the HIREST camera on the Mars Reconnaissance Orbiter during the descent of the Phoenix Lander:

Seen is the lander dangling below its parachute during atmospheric entry.  Of course they knew where and when to shoot, and preprogrammed their camera for that location.

H/T to 2Hotel9 for the the link to NASA’s website.

Surprisingly, I have not heard any of the doubters moan about the whole landing being phony.

Thanks, Carrick! I knew I kept all those NASA links for some reason.

This morning I saw a report that MRO is having problems with its UHF radio system. Hopefully this is a temporary glitch, MRO has been doing well, with a few minor problems.

Nutbags come in all sizes, shapes, colors and beliefs- right, left and middle.

The moon landing was a fake, the footage was from a soundstage on mars.

(I got into science ‘cause I wanted to help build a lunar space station.  Now we can’t even build an oil well in Alaska.)
