Finally, A World Series In Seattle

It’s in August and not October. Still, a world series is coming to Seattle.

The Gay Softball World Series will be played on several fields in the Seattle area.

The series is put on by the North American Gay Amateur Athletic Alliance, which runs a network of gay and lesbian softball leagues. It was started about 30 years ago. According to the organization, the softball world series annually attracts more than 4,000 participants.

Seattle seems to attract gay softball games for some reason. Among the most famous games is the annual Dykes vs. Drag Queens event. Here are some photos .

The world series, however, is far different. It’s not meant to a funny fund-raiser. It’s real competition. And the players are some of the best in the country.

I’m going to borrow some words from a dear friend and say,
CHARMING.... Just CHARMING!

That is weird. I mean a “Gay softball series”? That is just so weird! That is right up there with affirmative action and the Black Entertainment channel. Why not have a heterosexual series or a White entertainment channel? Weird!

So much for homos trying to assimulate themselves into mainstream America.  They are just another bigoted minority group seek self-satisfaction with their peers.

You don’t have to be a moron to be a liberal Democrat but it sure helps.

I imagine the award night which covers best coif and best uniform design is the event that is most anticipated.

What’s going to happen to US industry when the global warming extremists like John McCain double the price of electricity?  I would think all these factories will close and set up in countries where they aren’t scared of technology.

Eh, it’s actually pretty popular (among gays I mean). Did you ever see The Broken Hearts Club? Its a movie about a gay softball team that came out about ten years ago. Judging solely by the cover, it looked like just another movie about a baseball team, albeit a well groomed one, so I rented it. Pretty terrible, unless you feel like watching Frasier‘s dad and that annoying guy from Scrubs kiss other men. Anyone else ever notice there are an abundance of indie films about gays? Not that I have a problem with it, but men snuggling each other just doesn’t entertain me.

I am not anti gay. I just think it is weird to make themselves into a special group OR minority. IF all men are created equal? Then we need to NOT cater to OR draw attention to personal sexual preferences and quit giving special treatment to certain groups.  This world is made up of a lot of different kinds of people.

Homosexual women playing softball?  I imagine that there are almost no gay women that actually play softball so there is no real participation.  This is almost as ludicrous as having a “Gay Basketball World Championship”.  How many gay women athletes are there and do lesbians really like basketball or softball?

Perhaps I need to go to a WNBA game again.  =)
