fill the Easter basket

Rifling (gotta be a gun reference) through my kids Easter candy and hands down the best Easter basket candy is the Reese’s peanut butter egg.

All that smooth peanut butter dipped in milk chocolate..mmmm...I’m a bit disappointed as I think the egg size has shrunk over the course of two decades. but still a great easter choice.

It was a favorite 25 years ago for me, and still is today. Sorry kids, but dad snuck a couple. Next year I’ll fill the basket with peanut butter eggs. And I promise to share them.

Nope.. best are the malted milk eggs, not only for the taste but because when you lick them you can paint your lips and pretend you’re wearing lipstick like the big girls.
Life was so simple and fun before my parents insisted I become a responsible adult in life. LOL, I’m still working on this whole adult thing though .. I’m not good at major changes in life

I always looked at malted milk balls as nothing but filler. I enjoyed the crunch, but that was about the end of my satisfaction.

as far as adulthood goes:
1) your as young as you act and feel
2) kids keep you young. i’m old for the age of kids we have and feel like a 20something parent.
3) i say that stuff to make me feel better...and it works...so i keep saying it.

When I was about eight or nine years old, my friend Billy Mason’s dad worked for a candy company. He scored me two boxes of malted milk balls and it was decades before I could look one in the face again! smile

Blasphemy! All chocolate is good, well except in X-Lax!

No matter the age or state of health, for a military man it is always glorious to tilt at windmills, rescue a fair Dulcinea and be a gallant knight in armor in a glorious cause.
