Figures Don’t Lie, But Liars Will Figure

We have a Romneybot among us, who likes to drop assorted facts and figures into any convenient posts he finds. He brags about every poll Romney is ahead in and moans about every one he doesn’t,

and cries about the inconsistency of the polls (undoubtedly for not showing his candidate ahead in all of them!)

Here’s a small sampling of the polls that Bill is ignoring, according to RealClearPolitics. Note: these polls were from yesterday!

Strategic Vision:
If the 2008 Republican presidential caucus were held today between Rudy Giuliani, Mike Huckabee, Duncan Hunter, John McCain, Ron Paul, Mitt Romney, and Fred Thompson, for whom would you vote? (Republicans Only; Names Rotated)

Mike Huckabee 29%

Mitt Romney 27%

Lee Enterprises newspapers
For Republicans, Huckabee leads with 34 percent, followed by Romney with 27 percent.

LA Times Bloomberg
for whom would you vote: Huckabee 37%, Romney 23%

Regardless of your choice for president, who do you think has been best at saying what they believe, rather than saying what they think the voters want to hear: Rudy Giuliani, Mike Huckabee, John McCain, Mitt Romney or Fred Thompson?

Huckabee 40%, Romney 13%

Regardless of your choice for president, who has done more negative campaigning: Rudy Giuliani, Mike Huckabee, John McCain, Mitt Romney, or Fred Thompson?
A: Romney 35%, Thompson, Huckabee, Guiliani, McCain combined 26%

Update: I missed this question in the LA Times/Bloomberg poll:
Regardless of your choice for president, who do you think would be best on social issues, such as abortion and gay rights: Mitt Romney, Rudy Giuliani, John McCain, Fred Thompson, or Mike Huckabee?

Huckabee 44%, Romney 22%

Update II: Rasmussen, whom Bill is so fond of quoting has this this morning:
For the first time all year, Arizona Senator John McCain finds himself on top with support from 17% of Likely Republican Primary Voters. In the muddled GOP race, McCain becomes the third person to top the poll this month and the fourth since October. But his lead is statistically insignificant--Mitt Romney and Mike Huckabee are just a point behind at 16% and Rudy Giuliani is two points back at 15%. Slightly off the pace, but still within five points of McCain, is Fred Thompson at 12%
What Captain Ed over at Captain's Quarters calls a "Five Way Tie" (so much for Romney's imaginary nine point lead!) smile

Participate in a revised opinion poll:

Is Bill the Shill:

A) F’ing Stupid

B) F’ing Lazy

C) F’ing Incompetent (as a Romneybot)

D) F’ing Rude

E) F'ing Can't find his butt with both hands

F) The only blind pig who can't find an acorn occasionally

G) All of the Above

Based on his inability to stay on topic, or start a new thread whenever he wants to post something about Mitt Romney. His inability to find this post and defend any of the bullshit polls he quotes has caused us to add a new possibilities "E" and "F", expanding the scope of the poll.
Early polls indicated ”E” (Originally "All of the above"). Late polls indicate "G"!

Comments

The polls certainly show the voters don’t know who these people are beyond what they’re saying today.

Doesn’t say much about the genuine concern for our country now does it.

Most people don’t pay attention to politics until after Labor Day in an election year!
Most cases you’d do better predicting the election with a ouija board than all the polls that are out there!

Can’t argue with that...the proof of ignorance is everywhere.

Anybody else notice that Bill the Shill will drop Romney’s poll numbers in just about any thread, any forum, any topic around...except when there’s a thread specifically opened for him to comment (and remain on topic), and the crickets chirp, because he’s nowhere to be found!

True.

Then why has the campaign jumped the gun so ridiculously early?  More so than usual?

My observation is, that in the last decade or so, the trend by career politicians has been to move towards a perpetual campaign. Every statement, every move, every action, starting from the concession speech or celebratory rally, is calculated with an eye to the next election.

Its definitely coming to that point.  My opinion, its a turn for the worse.

Watching their every move to the insatiable public forces the politician to oversimplify themselves in a way that satisfies most voters.

And most voters don’t know politics.

George Bush realized this, and jumped right on the bandwagon.  His public face didn’t match his agenda, purposely.

Definitely! It ensures that there will never be a respite from partisanship. Everything is viewed through the political prism rather than what is best for the country.
