TACOMA, Wash.—The family of a teenager who was shot to death at a high school in Tacoma is seeking $35 million from the city’s public schools.
The seven wrongful death claims were filed Thursday by the family of Samnang Kok. Lawyers for the family say school officials should have done more to prevent the fatal shooting of the 17-year-old Foss High School junior on Jan. 3, 2007.
According to the Kok family’s claims, school officials should have known Chanthabouly was mentally ill enough to be a threat to students and staff.

Sheesh… damned if they do and damned if they don’t.

Comments

Once again the politically correct crowd has convinced a grieving family that they should be compensated for their loss. Only money will help you find closure and put your souls at peace. You can’t just walk away and say “shit happens” and get over it. Since the shooter can’t be sued,go after the government. If the family wins, it will send a clear message to the government that when our children are put into its care, it had better make sure they are SAFE. This lawsuit is frivolous and serves no purpose except to line the pockets of unscrupulous lawyers.
