Earl Pomeroy Needs to Apologize Now

Folks, Congressman Earl Pomeroy hit a new low today.  Put aside for a second the fact that he stubbornly resists doing what is necessary to give North Dakota cheap gas.  Put aside for a second that he follows the groovy beats of the San Francisco pied piper Nancy Pelosi more than the needs of North Dakota.  Forget for a minute that he took money from Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac while we watched our retirements crumble.  Did I mention he took a vacation instead of voting on oil drilling?
The fact of the matter is this, Earl Pomeroy is the guy we all hope to never meet.  Earl Pomeroy likes to call people names.  Yes, a sitting Congressman of the United States has to resort to name calling and quite frankly I think he needs to apologize to some people.
First of all, even though we are in a war on terror, Mr. Pomeroy took it upon himself to call the Commander and Chief a “clown”.  He mumbled and stuttered until he found out it was on tape and then he sheepishly mumbled some more.  Now like Bush or not, he is the Commander and Chief in war and he doesn’t need a sitting member of Congress calling him names.  Wavy Gravy in Haight/Ashbury might get away with it, but a member of Congress in wartime?  The funny thing is that Earl Pomeroy voted for the war.  He voted for the war and yet when the heat was on and we faced some struggles, someone else was a clown.
See a pattern?  When the heat is on, the name calling starts.
You see Duane Sand and his team are running an aggressive and exciting campaign throughout North Dakota.  They are pounding the pavement and fighting the multi-million dollar lobbyist machine that is Earl Pomeroy.  The message is simple, cheap gas, lower taxes, a safe America, and a champion of Democrat and Republican alike. No name calling, just a simple and hard working grass root effort to improve the lives of the people of the greatest state in the union, North Dakota.  They are challenging Earl on his votes and for his continued backing of Nancy Pelosi and her San Francisco agenda.  They don’t call Earl names and in fact, they actually show links to the information they’ve found out about Earl.  For example, if you go to opensecrets.org, you too can learn about the money train rolling in from the insurance companies, attorneys, and my personal favorite, the little “homemakers” in eastern states who write a North Dakota Congressman checks for 2000 and 1000 dollars respectively.  It’s all fact.  Anyone can check it.  Now why is Earl so sensitive about us finding this out?  Oh and believe me, he is sensitive.
You see Earl started an ad campaign that blatantly lies about Duane’s source of income.  The Bismarck Tribune even admits this.  Yes, the left leaning media admits Earl Pomeroy is lying.  Ol’ Earl called the people of his state, his constituents mind you, “radicals.”  Even Nancy Pelosi, with low approval rankings doesn’t resort to calling the people of San Francisco names.  I’ve never heard George W. Bush call the Rosie O’Donnells or Whoopie Goldberg’s names, do you?  Earl calls his fellow citizens names.  By his logic, he is calling Ed Schafer who he pushed into the Bush cabinet, a “radical”.  Earl is getting challenged at the polls for the first time in years and he knows North Dakota is on to his laziness and misdirection attempts.  The Bismarck chamber asked him a simple question about supporting coal and he made a smart mouth comment, but didn’t answer the question.  To his credit, Senator Conrad did.  You see, like or don’t like Conrad, he showed leadership by giving an answer.
Mr. Pomeroy went from law school to a law office (for four years) to government.  He never faces challenges (until now) and he gets a big pile of money to play with like he did when he took from Fannie and Freddie (again, opensecrets.org).  Earl isn’t in touch with his home state.  It’s California all the way for Mr. Pomeroy.  Nancy says we don’t need drilling and Earl does it. North Dakota says we need cheap gas, but Earl ignores them.  It goes on and on…
Earl is challenged right now, so he’s calling names.  He’s calling everyone whether they are Democrat, Republican, Independent, or other party a “radical”.
Name calling isn’t becoming of a Congressman Mr. Pomeroy.  You need to apologize to the state of North Dakota, Mr. Sand (for your lying), Mr. Sand’s staff (for your lying), Ed Schafer, and even to your own staff (for embarrassing them).  You see people aren’t clowns or radicals because they might have an opposing view.  This is America and not the mighty halls of Congress where your seat is getting a little to worn.
Mr. Pomeroy, apologize now.  If not, then fine.  Your time is drawing near.  Duane Sand is closing in on Congress and honesty and hard work is following him.
Mr. Pomeroy, be a man, apologize.
