Does America REALLY Want an All Left Government?

Pat Buchanan makes an interesting observation:

This center-right country is about to vastly strengthen a liberal Congress whose approval rating is 10 percent and implant in Washington a regime further to the left than any in U.S. history. Consider.

Link

A Liberal / Left Congress Majority, has the lowest rating in HISTORY, and we want to strengthen that majority when thier approval rating already is this bad?!?!

As of today, Speaker Nancy Pelosi, the San Francisco Democrat, anticipates gains of 15-30 seats. Sen. Harry Reid, whose partisanship grates even on many in his own party, may see his caucus expand to a filibuster-proof majority where he can ignore Republican dissent.

Headed for the White House is the most left-wing member of the Senate, according to the National Journal. To the vice president’s mansion is headed Joe Biden, third-most liberal as ranked by the National Journal, ahead of No. 4, Vermont Socialist Bernie Sanders.

What happens when thier is no ability for dissent?

Has there been a time in American History when one party has controlled everything?

Sen. Harry Reid, whose partisanship grates even on many in his own party, may see his caucus expand to a filibuster-proof majority where he can ignore Republican dissent.

If dissent can be ignored, and objections can be overrun, where does that leave the state of the US Government, of the people, for the people, by the people?

The ability for dissent is needed in both parties, and for either side, a majority enough to over ride discussion and debate is a scary thought.

Do you realy need to ask such question?
Where have you been the first six years of the Bush Administration?

Ha! Good one Ellinas!

Yes it is a good one.
Sanity is asking insane questions.
Get your head out of your ass dude! Wake up!

Republicans have NOT been in control of everything as you seem to think during the Bush Administration.

So pull your own head from your own orfice if you would.

There is more cross-over from the Repulicans party to democrats than there has ever been for Democrats.

Some people call them RINOs, is there such a thing in the Democrats side?

One thing about the Democrats, they know how to keep pressure and keep thier party voting how they want majority of the times. There is no such thing like that in the Republicans side.

So as much as you seem to think there has been a complete republican control for the last 6 years, your the one who seem to be missing it.

So, plan on answering honest questions, or want to be like puzzled on thier feet, with ‘Ha! Good one [slobber] Ellinas!’

Honest questions, beg for honest answers.

Again, you ignore what I asked, and think Republicans have been in complete control of hte government for the last 6 years.

Might I say you should really wake up yourself, since this is obviously an ignorant remark from yourself (among other things said).

As I stated, has there ever been a time in history where one party controlled everything.

No dissent allowed, no discussion, no debate, able to push through whatever they wanted with any consequences?

And for your information that has not been that way during the Bush administration. You are lying when you say that it has.

Check your facts, then lets talk seriously.
Repubs had full control. They passed everything they realy wanted.

ellinas,

I don’t think Henry Saad would agree.  Nor would Charles Pickering.  Or Miguel Estrada, who was characterized by one leftwing special interest group as “extremely dangerous… because he is a latino” and “an extreme rightwing zealot.”

Personnel aside, the single biggest long-term domestic problem confronting the US is unfunded federal entitlement liabilities.  Liabilities which only get more urgent and more costly to deal with the longer we refuse to address the problem.  Yet when President Bush asked Democrats to sit down and disucss the issue, Social Security in particular, with no pre-conditions of any sort, petulent Democrats led by the idiot head of the Senate Banking Committee, refused.

It may please you to say stupid stuff like the above, but accepting what you say requires the willing suspension of disbelief.

It may please you to know that if the lying politicians wanted to fix Social Security they would have done long time ago. Witness how quicly they found/borrowed the several hundred billion dollars they say the banks and others needed in order to save our economy?
Well they can find/borrow the money needed to saver Social Security as well.
In closing, I will use the words of my favorite right winger and say to you: “It may please you to say stupid stuff like the above, but accepting what you say requires the willing suspension of disbelief.”
