Did Lieberman Lie?

Campaigning for Republican John McCain in York, Pa., Tuesday, Lieberman appeared to question Obama’s patriotism when he called the election a choice “between one candidate, John McCain, who has always put his country first, worked across party lines to get things done, and one candidate that has not.”

Link

First, not sure where the article comes up with Lieberman questioning Obama’s patriotism, he never said anything about that.

What he does say, is that McCain has reached out across party lines to put this country first, while Obama has not.

For all of Obama’s rhetoric about reaching across party lines / bringing sides together, he has done no such thing.

While McCain has reached across the aisle far more often than Conservatives like, even to the point of rebuking Republicans and praising Democrats, much to Republican's dismay. Which is another reason why he is not doing as great (McCain), because of such actions he has sorely tested the Conservatives, and thier support.

“You’re right,” Pelosi said. “Joe Lieberman has said things that are totally irresponsible when it comes to Barack Obama. Here we have a leader for the future, really a great leader for the future and one that comes along only every now and then, and they know it so they have to undermine him. And one of their best weapons, of course, is someone who is considered by some to be a Democrat.”

I like the end statement, considered by SOME to be a Democrat. Doesn’t sound like it is something she considers.

So, did Lieberman LIE?

Was this totally irresponsible to point out the difference between who reaches across the aisle to get things done and who doesn’t?

But she warned that Lieberman’s top spot on the Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs Committee could be in jeopardy next year if the Democrats gain seats in the Senate in November.

“The Democrats in the Senate are in a tough spot. They have 51 votes. Joe Lieberman organizes with them,” she said. “In 85 days or something, they will have five more Democrats they won’t need him to make the majority. And it will be interesting to see what the leadership in the Senate, the Democratic leadership in the Senate, does at that point in terms of Joe Lieberman’s chairmanship of his committee.”

Only reason Lieberman is tolerated now by the democrats, is because he normally votes thier way (except on the war), but if they gain a few more seats, they won’t need him. It will be interesting to see the venom of the democrats against him when he is no longer needed.

Lastly.....

Pressed about whether Hillary Clinton could have been more gracious to Obama, the San Francisco Democrat responded, “I think Hillary Clinton has been very gracious. I think some of her supporters have been less than gracious.”

I am curious about what she means by “gracious”.

I am sure Hillary supporters are not going to like this being said about them and might just irritate them a bit more.

As for Hillary in all this, I don’t think she is done yet. I think Obama may have a surprise coming.......
