Democrat Ahmadinejad

Vasko Kohlmayer in The American Thinker:

Mahmoud Ahmadinejad - the man who has repeatedly vowed our destruction and who routinely refers to our country as the ‘Great Satan’ - has just sent a letter to the American people. Astonishingly, his missive reads like a statement from the Democratic National Committee. Rife with complaints about Katrina, excessive military spending, Iraq misadventure, lack of social programs and neglect of the poor and homeless, it is virtually indistinguishable from the rants of Murtha, Pelosi, Kerry, Durbin or Schumer.

The question that begs asking is this: How is it that America’s sworn enemy uses arguments, phrases and criticisms that are identical to those used by members of the Democratic Party?

I would suggest that this rhetorical convergence is a result of a shared loathing. Ahmadinejad despises America and so do large numbers of Democrats. It is enough to watch them seethe with anger when speaking of America’s traditions, principles and institutions to see that this is indeed so. They loathe America’s capitalism, her culture of individualism, her spirit of enterprise, her exceptionalism, her religion, and her accomplishments. They would like nothing better than to tear it all apart and follow the failed path of Old Europe even as it is slouching toward its doom.

Ahmadinejad has correctly recognized that at this stage the Democratic Party is his best ally in his war against the United States. It is for this reason that he so closely mimics their spurious rhetoric. So much so, that now it is impossible to tell the two apart.

I guess it’s just a coincidence, then.  It’s about time to cease the magical thinking and see what has been right in front of our faces since the Sixties.

Comments

Ahmadinejad sounds just like the Liberal Democratics like Kennedy, Murtha, Finestien, Pelosi, (lurch) Kerry, Durbin or Schumer. My thoughts are if these leaders are appealing to the common folk in our country we are causing them some pain. What do some of these fascist like Ahmadinejad and Chavez think the American people are going to rise up against bush and take up arms against our country. Hardly.

Now Iran has joined the American left, MSM, terrorists, and global media in their propaganda campaign.

Now, how is anything he said going to be illegal so as to restrict it?  Yet, it is clearly the propaganda of the unholy alliance.  This is the type of rhetoric that is causing Americans to second guess our President’s policies and undermine his leadership.

I bet he finds himself closer to Republicans than Democrats when it comes to social issues. I don’t see him being too sympathetic to gay marriage, for example. Can I call him Republican Ahmadinejad?

That is just it. You don’t see him spewing Republican talking points—just democrat talking points.  He wrote a letter to Americans siding with the Democrats against our Presidents national security policies.  Can you say ‘unholy alliance’?

I don’t know I think Mahmoud Ahmadinejad sounds like a left wing loon. Actually I would call him a fascist.

Yep, you betcha, the dems have been secretly meeting with Ahmadinejad and send him all our talking points.  You guys truly are right wing wacks.

Puzzlefeet on November 30, 2006 at 11:25 am

I think you mean ‘democrat’ with a small d and not ‘Democrat’ with a big D. He was elected by a majority - but he’s not in the Democrat party… and all the religious extremists I know are Republicans. Actually I would call them fascists.

Puzzle,

Who said they were meeting together?

Do you deny his letter sounds exactly like the democrats?

Don’t you think it strange when our enemies agree with the democratic party about how America should deal with its enemies?

No conspiracy here, just rhetorical cooperation.

Actually, when I read the Iranian president’s letter, I though it sounds just like something written by Puzzlefeet.

“Birds of a feather flock together.” No secret meetings necessary; they Mahmoud and the Dems have the same values.

r108,

LOL. I was listening to the radio yesterday about his “letter” to the American people and thought, my God, the man’s a Democrat!

If he’d have thrown a minimum wage argument in there he could be a contender!!!!

dont’ forget free trade, closing the donut hole, reducing the cost of higher education, let’s see what else can we attach to him to make him look like a Democrat.  Truly you guys are wacks!

Funny how most of what he is saying is coming straight from the Democratics playbook, I wonder if Howard Dean gave him a copy of the plays. Seems awefully familiar.

In terms of how they govern, there is no difference.

Ouch! You point out the many similarities between Ahmadinejad’s letter and the Democrats, and watch them scramble around offering laughable rebuttals!

Just be honest lefties: you loved the old U.S.S.R. and mourned when it fell.

You cheer on Castro and bring up his “free medical care for everybody”, while he heads up an island with a shortage of fish and a people so desperate to escape that they risk their families’ lives in the process.

You make excuses for Saddam, saying that Iraq was a “sovereign country”, when in actuality the only sovereignty rested with one man.

You hate Israel, and love the rock throwing hate-filled Palestinians.

You make excuses for “the people’s choice”, Hugo Chávez. You ignore that he is everything that you claim to hate.

You make equivalence between the U.S. and Kim Jong-il (example: if we have weapons, why can’t he?).

If it makes me a “right wing wack” to notice that the left consistently defends communism and every stated American enemy out there, then so be it.

If it makes me a “right wing wack” to notice that the arguments made by Democrats and Ahmadinejad are so similar as to be indistinguishable, well then slur my name if it makes you feel any better. At least I’m not siding with the enemy.
