Chinese versus African

So I’m watching this TV program about Chinese bridgebuilders who are spanning the busiest shipping lanes in the world. They’re building this complex, gigantic, bridge, which will be one of four designed to join Hong Kong with nearby islands. It almost causes one to rise up, and with clenched fist, shout Hooray!!  To think that, not too many years ago, Chinese students were denied entrance to higher education in America, and now look what they’re accomplishing.  Then my mind recalled that, even today, there is much animosity towards oriental students at that bastion of freedom, and opportunity, the Univ. of California, Berzerkely.

It Seems orientals comprise around forty per cent of students at the school and the grand Poobahs, at the urging of, primarily, Black students and organizations, think that’s just too high.  They, of course, want more Black students enrolled, and insist these students be taught in a manner which will promote their understanding of the courses being taught.  Trigonometry taught with Eubonics, as it were.  And, it would be nice, also, if more student loans were offered, and forgiven, for those that do graduate.  When will the coddling end.  When will we say to our best students, “we’re not going to hold you back because others make so little effort to succeed in their studies”.  The burden of not requiring those with able minds, and bodies, to “keep up” is proving disastrous for our country, and those who’ve bought into this are doing themselves, it is plain, no favors.  I’ll not live to see the day but I will take bets that the first bridge built over the Congo will be designed, and constructed, by a Chinese consortium.  Any takers?
