Charges against Mark Foley dropped.

Funny this isn’t in the news but Mark Foley will not be going to jail. What is also funny is that this isn’t a bigger story; I am kind of puzzled?

What is even more puzzling is that federal agents found 90,000 in cash in Rep. William Jefferson's freezer last year in his Washington home and this ethically challenged potential felon is allowed to run for reelection. Something is rotten in Washington, D.C. I am sick and tired of the double standards.
WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. (AP) - Former Congressman Mark Foley is off the hook.

The Florida Department of Law Enforcement says Foley will not be facing state criminal charges for allegedly sending salacious computer messages to underage male pages.

Officials say they couldn’t prove the authenticity of the chats and that too much time had passed since the February 2003 messages to bring any charges.

Back in July, the Justice Department advised Foley’s lawyer that the Florida Republican would not face any federal charges

Foley resigned from Congress in 2006 after being confronted with illicit e-mails and instant messages he was purported to have sent to Capitol Hill pages. Those are high school students who run errands for lawmakers and learn about Congress.

This wasn’t ever really a crime, it was a political opportunity for the Democrats and their allies in the press.

What’s going to happen to US industry when the global warming extremists like John McCain double the price of electricity?  I would think all these factories will close and set up in countries where they aren’t scared of technology.

A smear.  Writing some emails to a major.  There was a corrupt principal who did a similar thing to one of my friend/teacher/s husband.  Without any evidence, on Friday afternoon, he threatened to call the yellow journalism newspaper, The Rock Hill Herald with false accusations.  He resigned.  I worked with his wife for several years before she shared this with me.

These people are disgusting individuals who have no shame, no moral compass and no integrity.  The public should know about their past dirty deeds and I will continue to tell The Truth about these “people”

The hypocritical lefties use gay smear.  Too funny.

Yeah I agree it was a hatchet job and the left won on this type of thing and have smashed all of the ethics violations of the right…

Did I miss the sunset clause on criminal court case rulings somewhere in American Civics class? Sounds like a bit of a cop out to me.

I’m loathe to use the “Vast Left-wing Conspiracy” line here with Mark Foley. People in power do bad things, right and left (or extreme left and moderates, for the smartasses who would correct my description thereof) alike. None of us were investigators in the case.

The only information we get is what is presented to us through the media. From Mark Foley’s lawyer himself, we know that his homosexuality was an “open secret” in Washington, and that he was abused by a member of the Clergy as a child…

Combine that with at least ten separate counts of pages reporting some sort of sexual advance, contact, or undue intimacy with the Congressman…

But it’s all a smear campaign, right?

Not sunset clause, I meant that I wasn’t aware the statute of limitations on this sort of thing was that quick.

Yep.  The Dems using gay smear for partisan political purposes.
Expect much more of this between now and Nov.  Meanwhile, Barney Frank roams free, after having a gay escort service run out of his home and after being one of the recipients of Fannie and Freddie largesse.  Go figure.

I also think of hypocrisy because it is alright for Barney Frank: Since Frank was a democrat it was ok…

Congressman Barney Frank’s scandalous tolerance of a gay prostitution business operating out of his house, uncovered by the Washington Times in 1989, drew from ABC nowhere near the dramatic amount of attention ABC gave Mark Foley. On the August 25, 1989 World News Tonight, Sam Donaldson noted it just once in passing, a mere 67 words:

“Massachusetts Representative Barney Frank, an acknowledged homosexual, today confirmed that his Washington apartment had been used as a callboy headquarters by a male prostitute for a year and a half until late 1987. Responding to a story in today’s Washington Times, Frank said he had hired the prostitute out of his own funds as a personal aide and fired him when he found out what was going on.”

So much for “equality under the law”.

A Democrat can molest a page and no big deal happens.

A Republican sends a page some stupid IM’s and it’s a big deal.

Double standard?
