Canadian Dollar Heating Up

The loonie traded north of 92 cents US yesterday...the future of jokes about Canadian money grows dimmer I fear.

Mike,

We’re not deleting all those smartass remarks about the “loonie” just yet.  What goes up…

Still, it is amusing to note that those who bemoan the “weakness” of the US dollar in world currency markets, are the very same folks who fuss about trade imbalances and the current account deficit, oblivious to the irony of their own stupidity.

My favorite Canadian currency joke (actually a true story); a friend of mine had been told he was wrong, and joked that “a prophet has no honor in his own country.” Loving a pun, I handed him some change from my pocket, and (as often happens in Michigan) it had a picture of Queen Elizabeth on it.
