Canada orders Pastor to renounce his faith!

Government to pastor: Renounce your faith!

Yes, this is next door, a purely socialist state, wherein any public expression of any condemnation of sin, in the puplit, via the internet or other means of communication normally used for expressions of free political speech is a ‘hate crime,’ and part of the punishment can be an order for Christians or other people of faith to either publicly renounce their faith of suffer severe criminal penalties.

A Canadian human rights tribunal ordered a Christian pastor to renounce his faith and never again express moral opposition to homosexuality, according to a new report.

In a decision dated May 30 in the penalty phase of the quasi-judicial proceedings run by the Alberta Human Rights Tribunal, evangelical pastor Stephen Boisson was banned from expressing his biblical perspective of homosexuality and ordered to pay $5,000 for “damages for pain and suffering” as well as apologize to the activist who complained of being hurt.

According to a report from Pete Vere at the Catholic Exchange, the penalty could foreshadow the possible fate of the Rev. Alphonse de Valk, who also cited the biblical perspective on homosexuality in the nation’s debate over same-sex “marriage” and now faces HRC charges.

Boisson wrote a letter to the editor of his local Red Deer, Alberta, newspaper in 2002 denouncing the advance of homosexual activism as “wicked” and stating: “Children as young as five and six years of age are being subjected to psychologically and physiologically damaging pro-homosexual literature and guidance in the public school system; all under the fraudulent guise of equal rights.”

This radical turn against Christianity was predicted several years ago as the inevitable result of hate crimes laws. It is happening in Europe, now in Canada and I assure you that it will become a reality here in the next few years. A socialist state, like the one Obama and most Democrats are pursuing, MUST kill all faith - the opiate of the masses, it must criminalize faith in private and public; and many even here, will in the near future, suffer long prison sentences for a failure to deny their faith, they will not be able to get jobs or any public assistance of any kind. Christianity is a crime in and of itself!

While Rob and others may prefer a wholly secular state here, the fact is that either Freedom of Religious worship and Freedom of speech is a reality for every citizen, or no one any longer can depend upon any of these rights at all.

I don’t know what Canada’c constitution says about free speech.  Maybe Mike A could fill us in on the source of human rights in Canada.

neiman, did you read my earlier post on the same subject Has Freedom Of The Press Died In Canada? .  When freedom of speech and the press are suppressed, the suppression of religious freedom quickly follows.  The only difference of these so-called human rights tribunals from those in the former Soviet Union and other communistic countries is in the degree of the persecution.

See, only America has right endowed by the Creator that are off limits to government force.

Well then the pastor has the responsibility to God to tell the truth.  He can boldly do so without regard for the laws of Canada provided he is willing to face the consequences.

But HG, Canadians do have a bill of rights similar to ours.  The Canadian Charter of Rights state that all have the following rights

a) freedom of conscience and religion;
b) freedom of thought, belief, opinion and expression, including freedom of the press and other media of communication;
c) freedom of peaceful assembly; and
d) freedom of association. [/quote

But doc,

If those are rights granted by the government they are not unalienable and therefore subject to the whims of government.

I am in agreement with you on that HG.  There are already people in the US getting sued because they believe of their religious beliefs that homosexuality is morally wrong.  I thought we had freedom of religion in this country.

A political party cannot be all things to all people. It must represent certain fundamental beliefs which must not be compromised to political expediency, or simply to swell its numbers.

dougee on June 10, 2008 at 08:59 pm

Neiman,

While I could not agree more with your horror at what is happening to our northern neighbor in the name of “human rights” and “political correctness” (This is the same Inquisition-like tribunal that has gone after Mark Steyn with such an unholy vengence!), I find this part of your post offensively dishonest:

While Rob and others may prefer a wholly secular state here, the fact is that either Freedom of Religious worship and Freedom of speech is a reality for every citizen, or no one any longer can depend upon any of these rights at all.

Our host has never made any secret of his ambivalence toward religion, nor should he, but I can’t recall reading anything written by Rob that would even hint at a desire on his part for a “wholly secular state” and I doubt very much that you can come with any such reference either.

Without such a reference, and a clear-cut one at that, I’d say you’ve been needlessly defensive about your Christian faith, and owe Rob an apology!

Christians have quite enough to concern ourselves with those who truly DO wish to eliminate our Freedom to worship as we please and express out faith openly.  We don’t need to compound the problem by inventing imaginary enemies too.

HG - If those are rights granted by the government they are not unalienable and therefore subject to the whims of government.

This is precisely why the concept of God granted rights is so important in government.

Even if one doesn’t believe, just shut up and appreciate the logic of it all.

The hard core atheists can appreciate the irony that in one way or another, God is beneficial to everybody.

Everybody except the atheist government bureaucrat.

Supporting the CONCEPT is intellectual dishonesty?

How?

The concept serves me by placing my rights beyond the reach of government.

I support the CONCEPT, not the BELIEF of that concept.

Can you appreciate the difference?

Don’t fight for what you believe in, just parrot the line for political expediency.

Without such a reference, and a clear-cut one at that, I’d say you’ve been needlessly defensive about your Christian faith, and owe Rob an apology!

YOU deliberately, out of your personal dislike for me, CHOSE to negatively interpret those words of mine as being a personal attack upon Rob and/or accused me of putting words in his mouth. Rob is an atheist! Rob is a secularist! Despite Rob being an atheist and a secularist, he has always been quite charitable towards people of faith and never thrilled with silly attempts by the ACLU types to stop things like a Nativity of public grounds. On the other hand, his rants and rages at the Huckabee candidacy, clearly indicating his hatred for people running for office having any expressed Christian beliefs, were clear and unambiguous. Rob daily raged at Huckabee and it always involved his hatred for Huckabee’s Christian faith as a presidential candidate. Rob’s normally, otherwise open-mindedness about people of faith notwithstanding, he remains an avowed atheist and a secularist and thus he DOES NOT believe our rights are based on our national faith in God, rather they rest upon the whims of the secular government in power. It was in that spirit, NOT a spirit of attacking him I mentioned that Rob and others may prefer a wholly secular state here.” Did you get the word ”MAY” there Bat, I know you have trouble with some words on occasion? Doesn’t may indicate the person speaking is NOT talking in absolute terms? Hmm?

I have nothing to apologize for, I neither lied about Rob nor misrepresented any of the facts; and I hope you’ll forgive if I don’t look to you as my counsellor on such matters, as you are hardly free from bias against me in this and virtually every matter under the Sun.

All the government can do is impose consequences.  Freedom of speech remains an individual choice; the imposed consequences mean to control those choices by inspiring fear.

Thank goodness for the Patrick Henry type of people who prefer to say what they feel is right in spite of any consequences they may face.  They give courage to the rest of us.

Avatar for Dakota Lifestyle: Beyond the Weather

Another quick thought:

As a member of a misunderstood religion, I’ve been very reluctant to say some of the things I feel the deepest about.  I was grateful to find out that Rob and also Chad Everson at Grizzly Groundswell could care less about the religion and weren’t going to get down on me for it.  If I remember correctly they both encouraged me to speak up about my religion and my views on important issues, in spite of our differences.  I thought that was a very Christian move on both their parts.

Sometimes freedom of speech needs a little encouragement.

Neiman,

Please don’t continue to flatter yourself at my expense.  You are mistaken.  I have no personal animus toward you.  Fact is, other than respect for your military service to our country, which I have expressed, I have no particular feelings about you one way or another.  Why you insist on making this personal is simply beyond my poor comprehension.

You suggested that Rob, and others, favor a “wholly secular state” and I challenged that assumption, suggesting that if you can’t substantiated it by referring to something he has written that would support your assumption, you owe the man an apology.  Your response is a long-winded defense of you… which completely overlooks the point of contention.  Again...if you can cite something to substantiate your accusation, please share it with the rest of us.

You have no reason to expect an exemption from being called to account for what you write here, any more than any of the rest of us.  And self-flattering paranoia is no excuse.

Bat One: Try a remedial reading course, it will do wonders! Doesn’t the word MAY in my comments about Rob in my post have any freaking meaning for you at all? Have you never heard of this English word? MAY: Indicates what has just been said or what follows may be true, but the writer/speaker is NOT speaking in terms of absolute certainty. Apparently you missed that day at school.

May indicates one is NOT talking in absolutes, but rather speaking in general terms about, in this case, the natural course of ones beliefs; that means, as I demonstrated and you apparently cannot disprove: Rob is an atheist and a secularist as regards our government and therefore MAY prefer a wholly secular state. Surely, even with your hatred of the facts and truth you will not demand I prove Rob has said he is an atheist and that his many posts indicate a secularist mindset?

For all your pretense to having a superior wisdom, your lack of understanding of very simple words in the English language is appalling. MAY MAY MAY DOES NOT indicate absolute certainty. Further, to project natural results against known beliefs is a perfectly acceptable means of honest communication except for little Rob sycophants like yourself.

To pretend you do not despise me and hate everything I say here is an act of terrible personal dishonesty on your part, which dishonesty must run throughout the entire course of your life. In other words, you even lie to yourself with some degree of success on a daily basis! I thank God I will never have any personal or professional relationship with someone like you that seems to have such a casual disregard for the facts and the truth.

A little note to a few of the regulars here:

Look off to the right side. “Recent Comments”

On a day such as today; when we are getting a boost in traffic from first time readers; can the regulars, at the very least, cut out the swearing and invective?

Some here pride ourselves on being able to pretty much “say anything” (unless you’re trying to sell some spam product) without too many restrictions. Some here, falsely it seems, pride ourselves on contributing to a community that isn’t Daily Kos like in it’s attacks.

And yet a quick gander at the front page towards the recent comments column puts the lie to that.

How about a little respect towards our host? Keep the salty language if one must, but moderate it a bit for the first two sentences.

It’s not much to ask and it would reflect well on all of us.

Robert:
Twice I have asked you to point out in my words where Batshit was right, I am still waiting. Show me where I am wrong and he is right!

Had Batshit simply stated my observations were unfair or inaccurate, based on Rob’s own words, that is a disagreement about my conclusions, my analysis and is fine with me. Saying I accused Rob of something when I did not, I only suggested a possible (MAY) logical extension of his and others beliefs. Saying I need to apologize for attacking Rob, when I don’t believe that can be supported by the words I used, is not a disagreement over an issue or a little misundertstanding, it is the demand of a bully that I submit to his view of the matter.

Had I any idea that I might have been careless in my words, or spoke in absolute terms or attacked anyone, I am not above adnmitting error, but I deny all those things as being true!

When disagreed with, I will debate, when falsely attacked I will fight back; and I don’t give a damn about anyone or anything when I am defending my honor!

Glad you mentioned this, Neiman.  It was getting a little difficult to tell!  This part, however, you got right,

It is all very, terribly unChristian [sic]!

You have, as R108 points out, way over-reacted, throwing highly personal insults about me and my family, and ludicrous threats around like so many rhetorical marshmallows, and then you have the nerve to act indignant and offended???

Tell me, Neiman, have I called you names?  Have I insulted you with personal invective?  Have I insulted your family, as you have mine?  Have I lost my temper and spewed all manner of hateful bile at you?  Have I threatened you in any way?

I can think of no poster or commenter here at SAB who has demonstrated the vile temper, the monstrous capacity for personal insults and foul-mouthed bile, and the hateful paranoia that you have.  And you have the nerve to label yourself a Christian?  That would seem to be another area worthy of some serious self-examination.

As for your threats, as I said before, i don’t take those very seriously.  As you’ve pointed out, all bullies are cowards underneath.  And you have certainly acted the bully here today.  It is my experience that no man with such small stature and so large a mouth is worthy of fear… never mind respect.

I have not called you a single vile name.  I have not insulted your family.  I have not lost my temper or raised my voice, rhetorically speaking.  You have.

I know better than to expect an apology from you for your intemperate and un-Christian behavior, not to mention the insults.  But you still owe Rob an apology… no matter what you think.

On a day such as today; when we are getting a boost in traffic from first time readers; can the regulars, at the very least, cut out the swearing and invective?

Note to first timers: It is usually NOT this vile or vicious around here!
Give us a second look sometime!

Just go back and let Rob fuck you in the ass like the homosexual bitch you are, suck some dick like I am sure you do every day, and pull up your little girl panties Mary! You and your family, all of them, are fucking little bitches, whores, faggots, lying bastards. Your wife is probably your sister or brother!

Someday you will try your bullshit on a man face to face and get your fucking well sodomized ass kicked good and when you are done crying like a little fucking girl, maybe you can become a man, well, at least male, we know you are girl inside, Rob’s personal bitch!

You are the world’s first, complete walking, talking asshole with nothing but shit coming from your dick sucking mouth!

Many different opinions are shared here.  Unlike on the ‘kos-type’ blogs that consist of about 50% profanity and bad language.  Seems their level of intelligence stopped around the 5th grade after they learned interjections.

A question. Is someone using Nman’s usename and profile? Or zombieing his computer? Most of these comments with his name attached sound anything like him.

Neiman,

Do you honestly think that this,

Our host has never made any secret of his ambivalence toward religion, nor should he, but I can’t recall reading anything written by Rob that would even hint at a desire on his part for a “wholly secular state” and I doubt very much that you can come with any such reference either.

Without such a reference, and a clear-cut one at that, I’d say you’ve been needlessly defensive about your Christian faith, and owe Rob an apology!

Christians have quite enough to concern ourselves with those who truly DO wish to eliminate our Freedom to worship as we please and express out faith openly.  We don’t need to compound the problem by inventing imaginary enemies too.

was worthy of all the foul-mouthed insults, the crude references to my family, and the vile, out of control self-caricature you’ve presented here today to all the new readers brought here by Rush’s reference to SAB this afternoon?

Do you also believe that your hateful display is in any way representative of the Christianity you say you practice or the conservative principles you say you believe in?

You are a pathetic, hateful, ugly old man with no sense of decency, no sense of decorum, no self-control to speak of, and apparently no more lithium pills left either.

It may be your wish to see me get my ass kicked, physically and rhetorically, but I can promise you unequivocally that it will take a man far more knowledgeable, far more trained, far more disciplined and far more virile than you to accomplish that in either venue.

Whatever you might have once been, you have today shown yourself to be a miserable example of a true conservative, a miserable example of a Christian, and a miserable excuse for a man.

Please… stop making the everyone else miserable too!

Do you understand what “disagreement” means?

As much as we dislike each others views...I don’t think I ever went that far...and if I have, let me apologize to you here and now.

There is absolutely NO call for that type of language and certainly calls into question what lurks deep in Neimans heart.

I’m gonna say a prayer for him.

FUCK EVERY ONE OF YOU FAGGOTS!

No one, not even a piece of shit like Batshit will ever get me to apologize for something I didn’t do, but it is nice that Batshit and Rbb are now lovers, it proves there is love (homosexual)in the world, now they can sodomize each other.

I will not tolerate lies, I will not be laid a hand on and I doubt despite your false bravado Batshit you have never fought in war, so your manhood has never been tested, only your big fucking mouth!

rbb: Don’t waste time praying to yours and Bat’s pig god!

Self-righteousness from another fucking, atheist asshole! Great!

Give it to them ugly, dirty and loud so they’ll get the message, people like Batshit, Rob’s favorite bitch lover are too fucking stupid to understand the English fucking language. No matter how hard I try to discuss the issues, you simply cannot be civil to a bunch of fucking assholes like this! Robert108 is excepted, he was sincerely trying to appeal for calm and get the debate back on issues, sadly only after the angry horse left the fucking barn.

Not one of you stupid fuckers ever address the point of whether or not those 11 words were an attack on Rob or anything negative at all deserving an apology from me. Not one of you! No, just like butt fucking ducks you get in line with Batshit, grease your assholes and beg him to fuck you up the shithole! Batshit only knows how to bend over and play bitch to Rob, crying please fuck me some more!

Self-righteousness from another fucking, atheist asshole!

Wrong on four counts! It’s called Scripture. Climb down off your high horse and think how your foul mouth is putting the lie to everything you’ve ever said here.
I was trying to save you from yourself. Calling yourself a Christian and talking like a walking sewer is taking the Lord’s name in vain.
Sober up or take your blasphemy somewhere else. You’re an embarrassment. If you won’t listen to the Word of God, then literally, God help you!

Proof: FUCK YOU! You are one of Rob’s bitches, have him ban me, have some fucking guts and go for the fucking gold!

You were not being charitable or trying to be helpful at all, just joining Batshit’s clan and attacking me.

It is impossible to take the high road with you conservative assholes. I was accused wrongly of attacking Rob and an apology was demanded, when I stuck to the facts and explained that MAY modified my statements into something less than certitude and therefore my comment was only an general expression of my opinion, Batshit came on full force as usual and I won’t back down from that mother-fucker, if the cunt had a mother.

I hate getting angry, I hate bad language, I abhor things that are less than Christian, I detest being in the flesh at all - ever; but the only other choice here at SA is to get verbally fucked over every time you make an innocent point. So, fuck you all! I will not play your bitch and let anyone fuck over me when I have done nothing wrong. You guys attack and fuck over me, I’ll damn sure fight back, don’t like it go to Rob if you have the balls!

I’ll see you all in hell!
