Brownback Agrees with Biden and Bill Clinton

Will wonders never cease?  Senator Sam Brownback (speaking on This Week)agrees with Senator Joe Biden about dividing up Iraq in three federated states, one for the Sunni, One for the Shiite and one for the Kurds. Then he added that the President should force all sides to get together like Clinton did with the Dayton Accords and Camp David to get these guys to make the tough decisions.  They don’t get to leave the room until the political decisions have been made and agreed to.

Wow, a conservative Republican presidential candidate adopting a Democrat’s ideas.  Nah, say it isn’t so.

What a shallow analysis.  So Brownback agrees somewhat with Biden on Iraq, and favors a policy similar to Clinton’s.  Who said that Brownback isn’t capable of being wrong?

Hell, who even really favors Brownback for the GOP nod in 2008 among conservatives?  Not many.  He’s a long-shot candidate trying to make a splash.  And he’s completely wrong about Iraq.

Of all the GOP contenders, Brownback is my least favorite.

Wow, a conservative Republican presidential candidate adopting a Democrat’s ideas.

The same bad idea Biden’s been hawking for years. Having a Republican endorse it won’t make it any better!

In the first place, it is always amusing when a leftie quotes a Republican; it usually means the Republican supports some leftie concept.  It’s all simple partisanship.
In the second place, Brownback is no Conservative.  Of course, lefties are ignorant on that score, as well.  They also tried to sell the lie that the racist Dixiecrats were “conservatives”.

If you don’t know by now, don’t mess with it.

R108 and Rob repeats their typical mantras.  When they disagree with a republican you can count on a typical response like “oh he’s not a republican”, “Oh, he’s not a conservative anyway”.  You guys are absolutely hilarious if not predictable in your responses.  Thanks for the laugh tonight.

I’ve got two names for you, Puzzled: Joe Lieberman, Zell Miller.  Both Democrats, both in agreement with Bush on the war.

So yeah, Brownback favors a policy most supporters of the Bush administration on Iraq don’t.  Big flippin’ deal.

so let’s see how wrong Biden is.  Hmm....the US is constructing walls around sectarian neighborhoods.  Not much of a stretch to equate that to Biden’s idea.

The Balkanization of Iraq would do about as much good as it did in the Balkans, which is to say, not much!

Bush is “Balkanizing” Bagdhad walling off entire neighborhoods then, eh Proof?

Thanks for the laugh tonight.

Likewise.  It’s always good for a laugh when lefties seek to establish their credibility by quoting someone they label as a conservative.

Like when you use the MSM to support your points.  Nice try, R108.

In California, I “Balkanized” my back yard with a fence, but the rest of the state didn’t seem to notice. Kind of like one of your arguments!

I use their lies as examples of their lying; so what?  You make no point here.  Is this “you do it too”?  I can’t make sense of your gibberish.

Obviously you care for me R108, you wait with baited breath for my posts.  Oh, and yes as a matter of fact it is the ‘yes you do it too” just to show you that you do do it too and try to get away with the hypocrisy of pointing it out to others.

Let’s see Proof, putting up a fence in your yard and walling off entire neighborhoods based on religion, oh yeah, now I get the connection.

P: I am dedicated to refuting the lies of the lefties, no matter the source.  Nice narcissism, though.  You are a legend in your own mind.

So Puzzle doesn’t like building walls around sectarian neighborhoods (and I don’t think that’s a good idea either) but she loves Biden’s balkanization plan.

That’s...logical.

Rob, dear Rob, (/sarcasm), you know what they say when you assume.  I didn’t say that I supported Biden’s plan, I simply pointed out that Brownback supports Biden’s plan and Clinton diplomacy efforts.

Once again, you are lying about my position.

But why would you point that out if you didn’t agree with it?

And if you don’t agree with Biden’s plan, what plan are you on board with for Iraq?  You were, for instance, in favor of a surge....until that became a Bush administration policy.

Rob, dear Rob, (/sarcasm)

Are you saying that I’m not dear to you?

After all this time and heart-felt back-and-forth...I’m hurt, Puzzle.  Really hurt.

I would venture to guess that neither Biden nor Brownback have ever engaged the Iraqis in a discussion about how much they would like to see their country hacked to pieces. Nor, to my knowledge, have they made an argument that explains how the United States Senate has the sovereignty to split Iraq into three new self-autonomous regions. The Iraqi people, under its democratic processes, elected a parliament that drew up and approved a constitution, and neither Brownback nor Biden have an explanation as to why that document shouldn’t be honored by the US.

Brownback

Who? This guy has no chance of making the ticket so I wouldn’t worry too much about what he says. Biden is an idiot so I would want to be in Brownback’s shoes.

Rob, you are dear to me in that blog administrator/ blogger sort of way.
And as usual you misstate my “surge” position.  I was in favor of a surge with a large troop investment where we sweep Baghdad once and for all and hand it over to the Iraqis on our way out of the city. But as usual the Iraqi government has tied our hands and is not keeping their side of the bargain and is planning on taking a two month vacation.

I say we take a two month vacation if they do, agreed?
