Because like a typical gop, he felt entitled to it.

Giuliani breaks rules by having Communion at papal mass

NEW YORK (Reuters) - Twice-divorced former New York City mayor Rudy Giuliani took Communion at a Mass celebrated by Pope Benedict on Saturday, breaching rules that bar those who remarry outside the Church from doing so.

As he left New York’s St. Patrick’s Cathedral with his third wife, Judith, the failed presidential candidate confirmed to Reuters that he took Communion from a priest.

Asked if he was uncomfortable with having broken the Church ban on the divorced and remarried taking Communion, Giuliani said, “No.”

The Church does not recognize divorce and teaches that divorced Catholics are still married to their earlier partner unless the Church grants them an annulment, or ruling that the initial marriage was invalid.

Comments

Ah, so now you are the religion police, too? How about listing all the Democrat politicians who take communion? The whole “support pro-choice” thing blocks them from taking communion, not to mention their multiple divorces, adultery, drunkenness, etc etc.

Where it that list, mister religion cop?

Using Giuliani to smear the “typical gop”?

Sure buddy.

That’s rich coming from the guy who belongs to the party of entitlement.

Keep the humor relief coming, Mr. “realitybased"bob. *wink*wink*

um
i think the pope’s moral authority is shot, seeing as how he was a hitler youth and he spent 1978-2002 working hard to cover up all the kiddybuttfucking going on within his church.
what did we hear when he ‘came to power’? that it was handled poorly. did he apologize, since he was the one ‘handling’ it for the last 20+ years? no. so then, what did he mean? he meant that they he did a poor job covering it up and he blew up the pedophile priests ‘spot’ so to speak.
at least the last pope began as a Max Scheler scholar. this pope sucks.

rbb uses the word “typical”. As Inigo Montoya might say:

You keep using that word. I do not think it means what you think it means.

For any voter trying to choose between the two candidates for commander in chief, there is no better test than this: When American strategy in a critical theater was up for grabs, John McCain proposed a highly unpopular and risky path, which he accurately predicted could lead to success. Barack Obama proposed a popular and politically safe route that would have led to an unnecessary and debilitating American defeat at the hands of al Qaeda.

I never found that to be a fair one considering that membership was mandatory. I’m not going to hold kids accountable for shit that they are forced to attend.

Why do you?

likwidshoe on April 20, 2008 at 02:00 pm

Damn, spark. One we are, at least partially, in agreement on. Childhood aside, the fact he was one of the primary shapers of the defense, moving, and protection from prosecution of sodomizing priests definitely precludes him from attaining any degree of moral authority, ever. And as for his comments about “America’s Priest child abuse problem” being such a tragedy, give me a break! The Catholic Church has a “problem” with its clergy sodomizing young boys and girls everywhere, not just America.

What a bunch of nutt…good friends from the other side of the aisle.

I took rob’s quote and applied it to the failed gop hero.

And a few of you actually commented on his post.

Good friends from the other side of the aisle crack me up.

rbb uses the word “typical”. As Inigo Montoya might say:

Yeah, but he used the word “like” first.  It sorta changes everything.

Why do republicans have a war on words???

Hannitized on April 20, 2008 at 03:46 pm

And your point is? If you violate the tenets of your professed religion you should receive the penalties thereof. And that includes the Pope, and Democrats who hold themselves superior to him. As well as all other human beings. Talk about nutters. You racebaitingpovertypimp Democrats make me want to vomit.

rbb puts forth a lie. Someone objects to the lie (by heaping scorn upon the liar). Then, Little Orphan Hannie shows up to obfuscate the discussion. We have no problem with words. The problem we have is with liars. That plain enough for you, Hannie?

Try not to corkscrew in here under sniper fire and we’ll talk!

So, Guilliani, the liberal is representative of Republicans as a whole? Yawn. Hardly.

When we look at the “socialist paradise” that is Cuba, we must remember that a sizable share of the misery those people suffer is directly attributable to Che Guevara bringing Castro into power, and giving him many of the policies that have caused so much pain. The real symbol of Che should be the raft, to remind us of all those who have died on rafts in the ocean trying to escape the Cuban nightmare and get to freedom. And had he not been killed, begging for his life like a coward, he would’ve done the same thing again and again in countries all throughout Latin and South America. His actions have inspired terrorists across a continent and caused countless deaths.

Sure, but why do you never get upset at Robs lies?  And why do you call RBB a liar, when he is telling the truth in this post?

The title, genius, is the lie. Because rbb wouldn’t know a “typical” GOP if it bit him on the ass! But that doesn’t stop him from ass-erting that every aberration he comes across is “typical” of the GOP.
I guess from your response, that this type of dishonesty is “typical” of liberals?

As far as Rob’s lies, most of what we get from you is false accusations about Rob’s “lies” every time he disagrees with you. Which, when you think about it, means you are lying.

sanni, you have yet to prove a single lie out of Rob yet. Your Party’s candidates lie incessantly. Obviously the meth is affecting your mind. What little you had to begin with.

I personally don’t have a problem with Rudy taking communion.  My church practices open communion so a member of a different denomination could participate.  The pastor only asks that people examine their hearts and make sure they are right with God before partaking in communion.

I guess this is why I don’t have a problem with Giuliani taking communion.  The decision should be between him and God.

A political party cannot be all things to all people. It must represent certain fundamental beliefs which must not be compromised to political expediency, or simply to swell its numbers.

And I don’t think republicans believe they are entitled to most stuff.  Conservatives believe that you should work for what you have and earn it.  It is the liberal democrats who believe that they are entitled to health care that I pay for.  They believe that they are entitled to MEDICARE, MEDICADE, and other welfare programs that I pay for.  It’s those dems who believe they are entitled to whatever they want.
