Australia withdraws from Iraq,,,right on schedule.

The Australian component of Coalition Forces has begun its pullout from Talil exactly as scheduled. So far the only place I have seen it reported is Xinhua. Funny, you would expect the left to be crowing this from the roof tops!

The Diggers have been training Iraqi Police and Army personnel, and doing a bang up job of it. Something else that has had very little media attention.

PM Rudd had made quite the production of following the polls that showed the citizens of Australia wanted their forces pulled from Iraq, when it was already set to happen for this time to begin with. Can’t blame him much, he has to take what breaks he can get, don’t you know. His stance was made clear in August of last year.

Good job, Diggers! And don’t let the snide comments and jokes about your being held out of combat ops rankle. You have done a hell of a job. As always.

Australia has always been a stout ally of the U.S.
Good on you, Diggers!
