Another Dumb Remark by the Bush Adm.

The Bush Adm. has made some ridiculous remarks over the years, like Cheney saying that the Iraquis will greet us with flowers when we liberate them, Bush’s “mission accomplished,” and his most recent remark that we have 36 allied countries fighting in Iraq. Just when you think they would run out of dumb remarks, Secretary of Transportation Mary Peters comes to the plate and hits one out of the park. You won’t believe who she feels is to blame for the tragic collapse of the bridge in Minnesota? How about the nation’s bicyclists and pedestrians. Peters feels that they, plus museum goers and historical preservationists hog to much of the gas tax money that should be used to repair bridges. Someone should tell Peters that only 1.5% of transportation dollars go to bike and walk paths while 10% of trips to work, school and store are made by walking or bicycling.

Duh-vinski,

Every gas tax dollar NOT spent on the roads and other infrastructure which gasoline powered vehicles use is a misappropriation of funds which does indeed starve necessary funds from such low profile projects as bridge retrofits.

What do “museum goers and historical preservationists” have to do with transportation funds? You skip right over that point and proceed to label the remarks “dumb”.

Bush’s “mission accomplished

By putting Bush’s “mission accomplished” statement into your supposed “dumb” things said, you reveal both your ignorance and your bias.
The carrier he flew out to had indeed accomplished its mission...that’s why it was returning home! (Duh!)
The fact that the MSM and other retards (feel free to include yourself in this group!) took it out of context to try to make Bush look “dumb” or deceitful is an example of their bias and ignorance. (But, I repeat myself!)

Perhaps your post would have been better titled:

If you really want a dumb remark, you have to go with “Mistakes were made; let’s move on.”

Save America; boycott the MSM.

davi, do you actually have the numbers for Rails To Trails funding? And why should a single penny go from funding for roads, bridges, tunnels, and canals/locks maintenance to construct recreational trails? Dept of Interior has plenty of funding to cover any of that.
