An Epidemic Of Iranian Prostitution?
According to The Asia Times there appears to be a prostitution problem in, of all places, Iran.
I know. It didn’t fit into my pre-conceived notions either. According to this article, however, there may be as many as 300,000 prostitutes in Tehran alone. I would have thought that the mullahs in their viciously strict theocratic style would have crushed such a thing. This article states that the mullahs, however, are acting as de facto pimps by sanctioning “temporary marriages”, sometimes several in a day for prostitutes. For a fee, of course.
Also according to this article Iranian prostitution is a big export business, with tens of thousands of Iranian women working the brothels of the Persian Gulf states and eastern Europe.
Who’d have thunk it?
This reinforces my view of the mullocracy as being more gang rule rather than a legitimate government.
Check out the Asia Times article. It appears to be well researched and is surprising in it’s conclusions.
It also points out the interesting fact that Iran, like many of the European countries, has almost zero population growth at this time, partly as a result of the epidemic of prostitution.
Apparently all is not well in the caliphate.
