Absolut Pulls Ad

Finally
MEXICO CITY (Reuters) - The distillers of Sweden’s Absolut vodka have withdrawn an advertisement run in Mexico that angered many U.S. citizens by idealizing an early 19th century map showing chunks of the United States as Mexican.

How could this ever have been considered a good idea in the first place?
Defending the campaign last week, Absolut maker Vin & Spirit said the ad was created “with a Mexican sensibility” and was not meant for the U.S. market.

Also known as pandering?  What whores.

Well, what do you know.  A reasonable reaction.  No laws, just the laws of supply and demand.  In this case, less demand for their product.

Now if they could only pull it from the Internet...

For any voter trying to choose between the two candidates for commander in chief, there is no better test than this: When American strategy in a critical theater was up for grabs, John McCain proposed a highly unpopular and risky path, which he accurately predicted could lead to success. Barack Obama proposed a popular and politically safe route that would have led to an unnecessary and debilitating American defeat at the hands of al Qaeda.

A tutorial for the invading horde, no doubt?

Exactly! What an excellent marketing ploy they have managed to do

Methinks they’re apologizing all the way to the bank--right now, millions of people who otherwise wouldn’t be thinking about their swill are.  According to Hot Air, they’re pulling more or less the same stunt with advertising in homosexual-oriented media.  Contents not suitable for a family blog like this one.

First the Southwest, next the Louisiana Purchase.

French company Pernod Ricard SA, the #2 seller of liquor in the world, announced it would buy Swedish company Vin & Sprit, the owner of the Absolut vodka brand. The deal was for $8.34 billion, not including debt that will push the cost up by almost half a billion dollars.

Lou Dobbs featured this in his segment last night.  He even played the canned comment line response Absolut felt compelled to put up in answer to the flood of calls by angry Yankee Gringos.

Thanks.  I shamelessly ripped it off from a t-shirt website and have adopted the statement as my own.

Not sure what you mean.

RAZORWIR

I do know know that it would mean a whole hell of a lot more to Mexicans if we strung concertina and planted claymores, Fougass and bouncing bettys on our side.
