A Soldiers Silent Night

Just a reminder that we have brave men and women risking their lives for our liberty and our way of life. Please don’t forget them!

Merry Christmas, grunts, your enemies tremble in fear.

Great picture Anna, thanks!

No matter the age or state of health, for a military man it is always glorious to tilt at windmills, rescue a fair Dulcinea and be a gallant knight in armor in a glorious cause.

2Hotel9: I think the line was, “the enemy trembles at your approach,” or at least that was what they said about Patton!

That works too. We sent out cards to friends across the water yesterday, hope they all get there in time. Included phone cards, Omaha Steak gift cards, and Cabellas gift cards this year. OS and Cabellas have some nice food combinations that ship well, and both ship worldwide.

Thank you so much for such kindness and generosity for our men and women in uniform. So many of us talk a good game and encourage others to act, while we sit on our ever growing butts, while wonderful people like you actually do something.

That is so encouraging!

I try to stay in contact with a few NCOs and send things that can be used among several troops. Platoon Sgts always know who needs something extra and the combination food orders can be shared. Few things worse than being away from family during the holidays, especially for younger troops or married people not used to being separated.

Couple of years ago we sent 10 Grundig YachtBoy shortwave/AM-FM radios with jumbo packs of batteries, last year 100 pounds of beef and venison jerky. Mom suggested the cards, phone time always being a plus and the gift cards can be used at any time for something special during the deployment.

Amen.  Yesterday, I sent a Christmas package to a former student of mine now stationed in Afghanistan. Does he want to be there? Hell, no. Who would? Does he believe in his mission there? Hell, yes! In my book, this 22 year-old kid is a genuine American hero.

2Hotel9 and Pparets: God bless you both for not just talking, but taking action based on your beliefs, I am sure the troops are really blessed by your kindness.

Pparets: He is a true American hero!

PP, let that troop know if he needs something to let us know. We got quite the crew here at SA and can help him out.

2hotel9:  Thank you, thank you!  God bless, my man. I will do that.

No thanks needed. Since Uncle Sugar declined my request to return to service I do what I can.
