Over at the Washington Post blog, staff reporters Barton Gellman and Jo Becker have posted the first installment of a most extraordinary 4-part series of reports on Vice President Dick Cheney and the role he has played in the administration of President George W. Bush, beginning with the events of 9-11.  Anybody who has any sort of interest in how the US government has functioned during the past 6 years owes it to themselves to read this first report very, very carefully.  I have already read it twice and saved it to my computer, as I will the 3 installments yet to be posted.

These reports are going to cause a truly seismic reaction in Washington. DC.  Those on the Left are going to be truly outraged by what they read, while those of us on/in the Right are likely to find ourselves extremely grateful.  I have no doubt that the calls for Cheney’s impeachment will begin first thing in the morning.

Suffice it to say, had Dick Cheney been Vice President under Bill Clinton, with a similar “portfolio,” there is little doubt that the tragedy of 9-11 would not have happened.
